It rapidly gets tedious constantly ordering them out only for them to try and try again until they get over half way, then get a free move the rest of the way when ordered out. I let them do what they want in the end. They had no non

The best reason is that magic SHOULD be unbalanced against the rest of the game. Magic should have a cost commensurate with its effect and that is all.
I am not sure I understand this correctly, but the way I understand it I disagree strongly.
1) Having end of turn as default happen automatically is quite annoying because of situations where you want to act before finishing the turn. After turning it off in the options I then found that I have to manually click in the bottom left hand corner every turn to finish it. Having SPACEBAR as a key to press to end turn would be very helpful. 2) I haven't researched it fully but some tool

Keith. I am sorry but my interest conflicts with your ideas of a Well-Designed game, I am getting a bit tired of this days simpleton approach to games, I might be a rather hardcore player or a unique customer in my tastes, but I am TIRED of games going overly simple, and not offering any gameplay besides on one point. It is rare you see a game like Master of Magic and Master of Orion 2 anymore, and what you suggest would degrade the game to flash-game status and I would be off the wat

Seen a few cities with massive river slags next to them in my latest game, which where barely protected, so some issue must remain, but I am not sure what it is :S... Also seen these same river slags chase after my units when they got too near... Sincerely ~ Kongdej
In addition, based on the let's play video, it seems like it stacks with multiple units. I know that other spells can stack twice in some cases, so I am not sure from your screenshot if thats the case. So if you have 3 heroes with tireless march cast once on each, you end up with 5 movement points. This is worth experimenting with in any case.
This is true, thought the devs where aware since its b

My suggestion is, cast inspiration on turn 1 on your first city, and research spear technology early, then build spear troops the starting weapons are rubbish, and just wasting space imo :) Sincerely ~ Kongdej

I like your 4th point the most, making magic less dependant on map generation luck will be NICE, but your points are good and stands, the racial traits are unbalanced ATM, although some parts of the Racial bonuses are not shown, because... I dunno!! the Quendar (Magnar) race gets the ability to produce Slaves, which have free upkeep, no +25% fire resist, and a penalty to initiative and carry limits. (so 2 penalties to initiative). The Ironeers (Gilden) gets the ability to craf

I am sorry, but I would wish you had spent a few more minutes coloring up, and bold'ing up some parts of your post, to make it easier to read... It gets a mess ATM and I start getting a headache... (Ok I am a very fragile human being, but still :( ) Gonna stand through torture to read your post though, now I already made a negative comment. Sincerely ~ Kongdej

Thank you for putting up all these points to the tech tree, The tech tree needs a greater revamp IMO. and am going to look at it at some point ^_^ A lot of great points, but I have a question: what do standing army gives besides shields? :S. I suggest you focus your topic though, then put up 2 or 3 posts to different topics "UI Suggestions" "Tech Suggestions" "Bacon" whatever you want. Sincerely ~ Kongdej
If I want to cross a friendly AI territory I get the standard remove your troops or declare war option. But when at war with another AI fraction it seems their armies are able to cross another AI territory freely to attack my cities. I don't have this option unless I want to go to war with an AI I'm on good terms with. This seems unbalance to me especially if I have trade links as their is nice linking road between for those armies to use

Now I am thinking of it, meaby a second color or symbol, or a second feature Implemented in borders and faction colors to help distinguish between similarly colored factions could be nice... Sincerely ~ Kongdej

24 Replies 10,021 Views

Would it be too much to ask for, for a setting so the game ignores the player chosen border colors and gives them to something you set during game setup, since there isn't a lot of colors left for custom factions :S, I usually end up with a couple of factions with the same colors after I made 3-4 custom factions. This is starting to make the random faction thingie quite annoying, cause in some games I will end up with all the neighboring factions all having a yellow borderline, or so
