I for one do NOT like random technology, its a pain in the ass and is one of the things that makes me wanna skip over any game... I would rather see the technology based on the traits of the current race, like the no archer penalty. Sincerely ~ Kongdej

Some good posts in here, should break it up abit more, the pictures make a nice mess of things :) (You can make them smaller, then we can click to enlarge). Raze the bastard... :P after approx... is it 20, or 40 turns?? anyways during turns the unrest should slowly fall from 50% to 25%. Then stay at 25%... Not saying I agree with the current mechanics entirely, just stating how they are :) You can still rush buildings, and some buildings reduce unrest nation-wide. Sincerely ~ Kongdej

The current start is terrible IMO and I hope to see some improvements in the future :) But I said that in general, I think they will wait with fixing starting locations and the like until they know all the stuffs that needs to be in the map generator. I do not see the problems people have with multiplayer, that is the way I see it is if the stardock guys implement multiplayer they do not have to change the fundamentals of the game, only make all the game mechanics work over the distance of the internet, the balance will probably be the same no matter. Thank you discodog :p I was planning on putting up a rather major post on the UI off the game around beta 4, (They fix cities and so on). and its a fantastic suggestion, while it might not be fixed next thursday its good to have somewhere in the mind of the devs to make these kind of things be more transparent for when they overhaul the UI.
