Fun idea climber :), I would actually like to try out that game inside your mind with acheivement based buffs, as long as its done nicely it can be a really neat addition, although I would not get my hopes up here ^_^ Sincerely ~ Kongdej

Hm havenst seen this, you might want to give us a savegame through www.Dropbox.com or some screenshots ;) (Just wrote a big mashup for you at https://forums.elementalgame.com/426203 ) Intrigues me abit, because seeing this in one of the first 3 games this is a "feature" that would turn me completely off a game.. ;) Sincerely ~ Kongdej

Ok going to go through some steps, tell me if you still cant work it out afterwards. First go to an online image hosting site, I personally use Imageshack, others may vary, you can ask the other forum members here if you need others :) (this is a free service btw) If you are using imageshack, remember to login, else it will delete your pictures at some point.

I think it have a nice UI compared to it being a beta... I said it before, I think they will wait with updating the beta until everything else is in place, so they wont do double or triple work for UI work. That said I do love your post, because when we finally get to the UI stage it is nice to have some nice ideas out there to how to upgrade the UI, UI is half the game! Sincerely ~ Kongdej

I want this & maybe one for units my one big city had like 10 of the same enchant that took my units initiative down to under 5, monsters were getting at least 4 to 1 ratio on turns, very difficult to defend against unless you leave the c

Worse is, that compared to not doing it, to be competetive you have to buff your cities out to hell, since buffing cities > buffing units. Well do I want to upkeep my enchantment on my unit that gives 20% resistance to fire, cold and lightning, or do I want to upkeep the spell that gives my city +6 production each turn? boosting it with 20%... [quote quoting="post"] I understand the need for topological features, but the maps really feel about mid-sized to me. And yes, I know this isn't Civ IV; and I will take what I can get, given how much is already looking good in the game. But still... [quote who="Malsqueek" reply="54" id="3166092"]I think your indication of cities topping out on growth too early is spot on. Nothing else to do to increase your PRODUCTION or your RESEARCH (both of which are linked to population). ESPECIALLY since there is no base tile that gets you to a Level 3 city (which is where all the really good research and production stuff starts to become available), and the same number of techs will get you a level 3 city whether you are on a 3 Grain or a 6 Grain s

I think the original post was showing great promise, got a bit offtopic for my taste, but fantastic original thingie :P That said, genuinely a lot of ideas put into this post, although you have to read through a lot of personal chatter to get to it :) (And I spotted 1 possible bug in there too that I don't think I have seen mentioned before, or well its rather a powerful mishap, not entirely a bug). I really like this post of yours the most, first when I was trying the beta (back aaround 0.7 or 0.8...) I thought a could still change, and the magic system would get up to par with at least Age of Wonders - Shadow magic... I have been terribly mistaken, magic is half the reason I came here, and currently there is little development in magic, and most of it is focused on new shiny spells, not getting an interesting spell system. I think overland spells should be rest

Thank you CDRMorgan for pointing this out, this is one of the issues I have too, while the solution differs a tiny but, I am sick of the current map editor (and have voiced this in a few other places). I really think the editor needs a rehaul in any direction, mostly to provide a couple of different landmases which could be switched on or off, the current choice of temperate, desert etc. is just useless (imo) since its just the basic cover of the dirt, not the shape. Hope some

2: Thats a UI problem, I sincerely hope that gets fixed after beta 4, or whenever they feel comfortable with fixing the UI (I can understand they want to wait with this, until the last part of the game, so they wont do double work on UI). 3: Think they have some ideas in the making, lots of people have said this :D 4: Dunno about this, might be interesting. I do not need my items to be teleported, if so at a cost, another more enjoyable solution to me would be if non-hero units would have a small inventory, would help my little storytelling when I play my games too! :D Major City Ruler : "We have crafted our new wonder, a fortune for the eye and a beast on the battlefield, A devious axe filled with the most Arcane of magical rituals and powered by the deepest layers of fire magic." <span style=

Thank god I am not the only one, that would have hurt my feelings xD... Well suppose I can't solve this riddle with "so many" people swearing they're lives to them. Guess its part of where were all different, I do hope for more factional wonders (the one per faction buildings), I really enjoy having to focus a lot of cities around these buildings, without having to rush or race for anything. Besides building buildings and so forth is always a choice compared to producing troop
