In my opinion, beside the citybuilding/managment, everything is in the right place and "only" needs tweaking, balancing, bugfixing. outposts should just cost 5 gold to put up, and 0.1 gold per turn upkeep, nothing restricting but you wont spam them because youre silly... meaby 0.2 turn gold upkeep, thats my thoughts anyways. Sincerely ~ Kongdej
[quote who="Naidrev" reply="5" id="3167526"]As it stands now, it seems like the developer's original idea was "The player has to defend their borders, so you can go wherever you want." But then they realized this was not very fun (and frequently frustrating) and reached an internal compromised that "Well, the player can make them leave if they want to, but we still really like the idea of having to defend your borders." The problem is that this just creates needless busy work and is not f

I played the original Elemental with the map generator that was made by someone and I set it to the highest settings it could go. I played 800 turns on that map with absolutely no problems, no slow down. I can see problems with a real weak system but anyone with a decent amount of ram and a decent video card would most li

Personally I have a big theory about game design and how it could change, I think it would benefit the game to have more "wildlands" which I am to travel, instead of having to travel through hostile country borders. On the flipside, there should be treaties that allow or help me travel through other players borders, the diplomacy options for this is very rigid ATM and I miss an option to ask for my sovereign to travel through a piece of land in a certain manner. All up to the
You all talk of dwarves and hobbits, I just want more monsters, spiders, golems (gollums) especially golems!, fantastic mounts like drakes and lizards more readily available (lategame meaby). Might be me but that is one reason I liked Master of Magic that much, all the game was made up off "fantastic creatures" Sincerely ~ Kongdej

I'm finally starting to accept the fact that the "No Taxes until you are out of money" and "Use your early mana income to boost production and research" strategies are essentially required for any kind of start to completing with the AI. Try those and you should be competing pretty well on normal or challenging in

Cant say I like C) or D), but I do like A) and B) I remember playing age of wonders using the B) suggestion, gave some completely new decisions when attacking. Also B) would make them rework the combat maps, and that is a much needed fix ^_^ Sincerely ~ Kongdej

No the AI is a pain on this subject, and I hope we get a fix at some point, cause its frustrating the hell out of me that borders are no where near sacred, even if the AI don't even want a war. Sincerely ~ Kongdej

To add something to my last reply, thats hard... Meaby im being too much of a critic but I hoped for more ^_^ I will be grabbing something from sean, and that is I really like to see the unique units pop up, making the game feel more fantasy like, and magic like, like having golems in your army, and spiders to help you. Doesn't translate very good into custom factions though. Sincerely ~ Kongdej
