With release approaching 1 month away, I would be baffled if Stardock went back to the drawing board on city building locations. In addition, I've read in other threads that map generation has been looked at and will be shown in beta 5. Let's wait an see what it has to offer before we panic. And yes....if the map generator is as bad as Civ 4's was, then I will be panicing!!! But so far, it looks REALLY good, and I don't think Stardock will backpeddle...so we shou

Excellent suggestions. Definately would LOVE to see some love towards the summoning spells. Just from what I've seen so far, I'm guessing Stardock is already on page, and are simply holding info back till the final release. If not...there's always modding. XD

Just had the game freeze on me during 'end turn'. Never had that happen before. Oft times it would just crash...but never hang. EDIT: Filled up my initial 'reserved' slots now. Will be continuing my comments whereever they post here on out...

I've been slugging through the midgame, and just conquared Yithral. Turns out that Verga is quite the hoarder of useless items: http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/771/game6kingdombugvergatoo.jpg Definately a bug.

The campaign is said to be an RPG about the hardships and joy of a post-cataclysmic transvestite. A really unique concept for a 4x fantasy game.
Derek and Frogboy have both dropped tid-bits in a few threads leading the community on that Ceresa is the Fallen Enchantress. Whethere or not this is in fact the case....most l
Yeah I was thinking it just adds new traits to the pool you randomly choose from each level, it doesn't remove old ones. I am not sure if you even could remove them if you wanted to. I could see it branching like this: Governor -> Economist, Engineer, Researcher Mage -> Sorcerer, Battlemage, Enchanter Warrior -> Defender, Berserker, General <

If you watch the new version of Totall Recall, you see excellent marketing strategy being implemented. Tablets are a communications device. Perhaps 'informations' device is a better term. Tablets are meant to have the information when you need it where you need it. They don't primarily focus on processing power. The same can be said for laptops, though to a lesser extent. Processing power is limited in order to reduce heat and, while this could be mitigated,
I am sure they read it. Probably as annoyed as I am that the modding was not mentioned. Modding is 90% of the draw for this game. But the article was still great if you ignore my bias.
I never even considered modding for this game at first. For me it was MoM v2.0. The fact that FE can be so easily modded means I'll be that much closer to my MoM. XD

or at the VERY least, have a variety of excuses as to why the opponent sovereign (or champion) made it off the battlefield! The whole "magically escaped" thing gets old fast. I think it's unintensional. Cities in 0.950 were able to 'snake' to rivers and forests. Then in 0.951 (and 0.952) all of a sudden we couldn't. The whole purpose of 'snaking' cities is to extend and aquire such resources (in addition to improvements). I imagine Stardock will be correcting this bug for beta 5.

To add to enchantments: What about curses? I know there are a few that can be applied to a city, but none that actually turn an enchantment INTO a curse. Example: You have 'Enchanted Hammers', granting you +10 to your city enchantment. Then death magic : 'Corrupt Enchantment' is cast, and all of a sudden, your city is locked in with a -10 production 'bonus'. After the 10 turns, you can dispel it, and re-enchant your city with something new

Good Morning Shops seem to be lacking so far. It's great that you can research different technologies and that your shop keeper is ever so willing to sell you what you've researched, but shops, imo, need a great deal more fleshing out. Here's what I propose: Shops need to be more organized. Currently all the items just get dumped in whatever order they happen to show up. It's a bit of a pain sorting through everything. I imagine that there should b

While plopping a outpost right beside someone else's borders is operationally allowed in this game, the diplomancy should have a 'borders too close' indicator. If you encroach upon an opponent, they're not going to like it...

I'm a little surprised that the shop doesn't have an 'exchange' where the merchant is willing to change whatever resource you have into another at some 'fair' ratio (fair for the merchatn...XD...not for you). This way, if you needed metal, but didn't have it, you could convert crystal for your purchase....but maybe at a 3:1 ratio or something like that...

Still coming with excellant top/bottom concept! Solid! I smile inside when I see a concept on someone's top list, but that very same concept on someone else's bottom list. Show's that a ) you can't please everybody, and b ) different people are looking for different things in the game. To summerize, here are the concepts mentioned so far: Top List: Shards, Cities, Essence, Sovereigns, Wildlands, Cities, Campaign, Theme, MoM, Moddin

Cool lists so far. I've never been much of a modder myself (always took what the develper gave me). Great to see that Stardock is entertaining modding interests aswell....and from the simplicity shown in the examples...I may just give FE some tweaks of my own. XD
I have to disagree about the campaign comment. Cause someone or a lot of someones are working hard on this. I for one am looking forward to it. I love campaigns more in games like HOMM and the like than just playing sandbox.
Fair enough to disagree. This is an opinion thread afterall. I've just never considered FE to be a 'campaign' game. Everything shown to us so far indic

Is there at least going to be sufficient rpg drive to complete areas like the wildlands, or that dragon lair, etc? Right now, I come to the borders of those area and I ask myself "do I devote resources to this, or focus on my AI enemy?" There currently is no reason to do these areas un

lol. Unfortunately (or fortunately...which ever way you look at it), this game screams 'one more turn' WAY more than Civ ever did. You're batteries will die on you, and you'll be like "what the? I just charged them". Then you realize 6 hours has passed. XD

No I am not advocating essence be rarer, I don't mind essence, I was saying Heavenfall's idea was interesting since it would be a balancing factor in starting location and essence.
Whoops. Sorry. Reading your posts in this thread gave me the impression that essence was too powerful for you. My apologies if that is in fact not the case. &nb

Good Morning Recent threads have had me grinding my gears as to what are the most admirable concepts FE has to offer so far: I propose the following: List the 3 best and the 3 worst concepts you find about FE to date. I'll go first: Top 3 Shards: Love how they're impact scales spells and abilities. Love the variety available. Kinda miss how spells could 'fizzle' when in proximity to certain shards.
