seriously omg rant more - i can beat the game without using heroes. That is really not the issue. frankly its faster to crank out units than it is to level up my hero. spam civ tech to get gold. then warfare for 4 man groups - crank out observers till the cows go home and then go all zerg like. Sit back after killing 2 or 3 ai, then tech up rinse repeat. ther is no real mystery to it, see taht hero over there - my observers will kick the stuffing out of him - o he has an area blast spell, wel

Mystik the way it seems to work is you have your list on the left hand side and it starts with the unit at the top of the list. If you use all of that persons action points it goes to the next one on the list. Now what has been happening is you pick someone lower on the list, say your rock giant or hero, and cast spells until you run out of action point. While the spell animation is taking place you select the unit that you want to use next. So you then queue in the movement you wan to take p
Has anyone made a comprehensive list of hero skills and what the differences are between the starting heroes compared to the ones that start roaming the land when the adventuring techs unlock them ? Also it would be nice to comment on the Pros and cons of marrying early vs. late with the hopes of catching a more powerful spouse later on.
Awwe shucks, i've only pointed out one or two minor things most of the work is yours.
Is it possible to have some dev input to help tune some of the finer points on the way certain game mechanics work ? Some items don't jump right out and explain themselves very well, like road master and the influence on the bard skill and charisma on making hero hiring cheaper.
oddly enough, i just upgraded my video card and i have noticed the games runs smoother and faster. But yeah, you have to wait for the animation cycle to finish otherwise you are just clicking on dead air and their is no notice that the cycle has ended. Also, when a unit uses all their action points it goes down to the next one on the list, even if you already have another person picked and ready to go. I've almost lost fights due to this when my archer suddenly run to the front lines when i w
When you understand the tech tree and get a feel for the ai it is very easy to set yourself so that that the computer will never want to attack you. Especially if you eat one or two of your neighbours. Incidentally this makes it easy to win through either magic domination or the adventuring quest. You can play the game as long as you want and then end it when you are ready to declare victory. Once Frogboy gets to play with the ai some more then we can have different computer players playing i
Quest components ? really ? cool ! Frogboy, you need to make a sticky for these announcements so we can oo and aaahh over them. That will add some very nice replay to the game.
I read the manual. It's a nice story. Were there rules in it ? hmm. Also, to make my post relevant: Gwen makes a nice point. As long as they take a slot another unit could use, melee/archer heroes need to be about equivalant in fighting ability to a unit that would take equal cost (offset by the effort involved in leveling heroes) that could have been used instead. It is the scalability of heroes that is part of the problem - they just d
according to the wiki: The original TV series, which aired in syndication from September 10, 1984 to November 18, 1985, was titled Voltron: Defender of the Universe . so sept 10 is the anniversary of the first episode being run on tv.
I would also like to see voltron appear as a recruitable hero anytime someone plays Elemental on the 10th of September.
In my bid to take over candyland, i would like to see gummy bears added as a troop resource.
After a quick perusal of stardock's other games, i would put forward the complete inclusion of the demigod game assets as a solution to multiplayer. This should be accessible as a mini-game (complete with a miniaturized mode) that should be accessible to 6 to 8 players who manage to cast the spell of mastery at the same time. There can be only one.
The best way to start the game. Hmm. I like to double click on the main icon on my desktop personally, how about you ? (this message was brought to you by a halloween hangover - too much candy stolen from my kids)
I miss meatloaf mondays. patches are nice too. I like the presents patches bring - new spells, new monsters, new quests, new equipment, new reasons for trolling teh forums...
you have no heart sir
well, the game does have an option already, a;though it seems that no one uses it - the town level option to spawn a unit. Now To be honest, this unit does not act the way i thought it would. For example: it can leave the town and it charges you a maintenance cost for the unit. I thought this unit would be a devoted defender to this one particular town and should have no maintenance cost. Also, i think the unit should gain xp over time so that it remains usefull. I don't know if the lv 5 defe
*blink* *blink* you're right, that is only being suggested now i can't beleive it...
In the cartoon show "world of quest" there are various, nefarious neverdowells. One of these henchmen groups are the vegetable men. In honour of the the original posters vegan request, i plead, nay, i demand, very well - i drop down on my hands and knees to woreship the ground you walk to include these pot-pourri of vegetable madness. We need something meaty and dangerous to chew on, something to encourage the ai to stand up for itself and not let it be pushed down. It will not go gentle into
Exactly. PLease take another look at MoM and AoW:SM. and rethink the hero situation. It will really be worth it in teh long run.
frogboy did say that the would have to change the programming to units to be able to give them abilities that is not dependent on item equipment. if they took the time to do that now it would pushback the release of 1.1 I am hoping they add in movement abilities when they do that. I don't understand why they don't already have them in the game but i think they held to the belief that the items that gave movement bonuses at the cost of items that gave armour bonuses would do the job. A
sigh... the heroes were not over powered, they are underpowered. The magic system needs adjusting, which is what they are doing for 1.1. We will see how successful they are when it comes out. Fishslayer. Your example of how good heroes are is a problematic example. The ai does not do anything to counter your heroes. His squads are too small and don't absorb much spell damage, your summon creatures lose their beefiness against 4 man squads and higher which the ai doesn't seem to use mu
It's hard to say for certain because the bard skill throws the nmbers around in odd ways - i think each hero you have with that skill is cumulative. The point is i think the bonus for charisma is bigger than 10% per point.
I really like what people have been writing. Things i can think off - I like the faction editor a lot - I think it needs more loving though, many more options for faction bonuses and penalties, and a preview would be nice when choosing your faction colours. I have made odd colour choices and had to restart my game after some really nice starts because the colours i picked were hideous (make stone bright green or something and have a look lol)
actually, i have to admit my list of things you can do with teleportation was not meant as a solution to the perceived problem, but a complete a list as i could think of - of special things you can do with the idea.
