o, i see what you mean now - did you take population cost and material cost into your calculations ? I don't see you meantion them. I think the school is 12 population and 3 gold upkeep versus 5 population and 1 gold upkeep for each study, so you get a bonus while being able to maneuver your population around. This is a good thing when you are low on people count but running large on gold.

Hmm you know, coming back to look at the numbers i put down, what i meant was 2 hero levels in between spell levels at 2 point per level, so it would be +4 not +2 lv 1 int 11 lv 2 int 15 lv 3 int 19 lv 4 int 23 lv 5 int 27 with lv 5 being max spell level, which i understand to be the current situation 6 hero levels to be able to cast lv 5 spells with a hero that starts at 10 int if you pump everything int

I'm a little confused, when you say it gets worse, are you saying you are getting more bang for your buck, or are you losing some efficiency somewhere along the way do to implementation?

Maybe something like a lv 1 hero has access to level 1 spells, then every 2 hero levels new spells, perhaps make it +2 int per spell level so level 1 int 11 level 2 int 13 level 3 int 15 level 4 int 17 level 5 int 19, or more then + if spells go higher then level 5 ( i havent gotten that far in my spell research since they changed it lol) you have to put a lot of points into int to do this, extra int added could increase damage, an

If i remember correctly, frogboy said they can add abilities to units through items, but they lack the needed programming to make the changes retroactive to units that have already been trained. They had to make a choice between altering the magic or adding retroactive changes to the game. They plan to do this in the future, probably after the magic is dealt with. I agree. This is very necessary and is in fact almost a gamekiller for me. I have actually. technically only won the games once when i cast the Master spell and then it was cut scene to end game movie. I haven't done any of the end games since that, the cast the spell - you win was too easy. the Ai never had a chance to stop me from casting the spell. I like exploring around a bit with my heroes in leather gear and 14 hp and suddenly i bump into heroes with 50+ hp in enemy factions that have declared war on me. Took me 5 restarts under the latest update on the game for me to realize i needed to invest in more war tech than i had been doing. You certainly can not ignore it like you could before 2 or 3 patches ago.

In a precious post i have said i would not refer to other games and that Elemental should be taken on it's own merits. I still agree with that. That depends, what is your charisma, flaws, faction modifiers ? i've payed as much as 620 for a basic hero before. Charisma and Bard ability really have a huge effect on the game. edit: oh I originally wanted to say: There was some info that stated how much to hire a hero ? Wow. You know it posts that like this that make you wonder if the person is being literal. Did their mistress dump them for that reason ? I agree whole heartedly on this and needs needs to be done as part of a parcel to help balance magic. They did say there was going to be a major update on magic coming up and i think this choice of enchant slots versus refresh/ mana regen time/storage is an excellent idea.

I was thinking it might be nice to consolidate movement and spell casting into the action points pool, this way you have to make a choice between how much you want to move, perhaps interact with objects on the map (such as a goodie hut or quest hut) cast spells, and in the combat map attack as well. your movement uses action points with your movement score determining how efficient you are at it. I was thinking it would be nice if a stack was guarding a location it could start building themselves a little hill fort in a similar manner to how caravan roads improve. digging in would be continuous as long as the army stack stays in place, 5 turns create a level 1 fort, 10 lv 2 fort, 15 for lv 3 fort etc. Each level of hill fort would grant some of the same protections that a city would grant, i guess that is mainly a hp boost - probably 10% per hill fort level. tjashen when you were looking at the levelling up xml, was it for the regular units or the ones you designed ? i thought units only got more hp when they levelled up, did that change or is that something under the hood that wasn't very noticeable ?

hmm under the new system, gold is based of of population. i think 10 ppl give 1 gold per turn, multiplied by modifiers. Markets give you +25% fairly quick. 1 food grants a hut for 50 population in kingdom, and that gets bigger later with better tech. (wait i think its 25 food for a hut and 50 for a house) assuming you build the beacon of hope for example, your prestige will fill that population count fairly quick, perhaps by 50 turns or so. so lets say by turn 75 you hav
