no no i wasn't worried about how the game was going, i was just surprised how i kept getting food resources even after getting the adventuring tech - my resources eventually balanced, sort of - still light on arcane and tech resources but i'm cranking out enough food to bring three cities up to level 5 at the same time rather than leveling up one, taking out houses and moving them to another city to take advantage of how many citizens a city can manage on its own without support housing. I'll

Haha, i'm currently playing a game (around turn 200 atm) where most of my cities (5 of 8) have at least one food source, and several have 2. I find myself actually researching production beond the great mill for the first time XD. I have 1 tech, arcane and gold source nada else - can't afford to get a hero yet beyond my sov until i tech up my civ more - I love it ! great start. (watch me get rolled later by a resource hungry comp) [e digicons]X|[/e]

There needs to be random worms of all shapes and sizes that appear in the wilds, one of which should be the common earthworm with 0 attack, 0 defence and 1 life. Heroes should be able to buy glass jars in the store so they can catch these for the sovereigns kids. Include a quest hut with a random event where a power suit falls from the sky. This random event will modify the master spell so that a cow has to be launched into the air with a catapult while casting it.

doh ! still, sometimes i can cast a spell with 0.2 of an action point, or 1 action point - not the 2 that is supposed to be the case,

I want sabretooth bunnymammoths to appear in the diplomacy tech to appear as a recruitable ally. You need to research civ tech to discover vorpal carrots, their food of choice. or was that magical warfaretech....

no, i'd rather you just keep it. I found this post helpful and learned to manage the forums with it.

I can't imagine why the ai attacks with its sovereigns - doesn't seem to be any real benefit to risking your sov and your spouse - everyone one else is expendable (poor kids). I've restarted games when the only challenger in the ai factions have suicided on attack runs against me and my larger armies.

this kind of tweak was never meant to fundamentally change the game, there are big tweaks that take a long time, such as ai, and little ones that take a short time to make, such as tweaking the way one tech works. It is just supposed to be a simple change to enable the crossover into bigger unit sizes less painful. small units take less resources and are faster to build than big ones. its easy to make single units that you can group together at your leisure when you want to go to war and take

interesting, i did not realize it was simultaneous turns - this explains some of the funky things that have happened while chasing down invading armies lol [e digicons]8(|[/e]

you know it's funny you mention the problem of different weapons, i assumed you would have to be combining the same troop type. I wouldn't have worried about mixing apples and oranges. I like your suggestion for the xp, i would have thrown out the baby with the bath water. I would not have a militia be generated by these training troops, I would consider that the risk of taking the time to train the troops into a new cohesive unit. Don't lose the town/ outpost where they are training.

i suppose you are right, it would be easy to just add it all up and average it though. [e digicons]:'([/e]

while reading the thread on the economic development of life, the universe, and everything, someone, i forget their name, made the comment that the logistics rule broke the immersion factor of the game for him because he couldn't make the mechanic work in his head on why it worked the way it does in game. It did get me thinking that could be a tweak to the rule that might add to management a little, but in the long run make for a better game. Why not change

It seems to me that the concept of "specialists" is a more flexible way of giving building slots to cities. instead of say, lv 0 outpost - 1 building slot lv 1 city - 3 building slots lv 2 city - 6 building slots lv 3 city - 10 building slots lv 4 city - 15 building slots lv 5 city - 21 building slots combined with a building upgrade system, example: lumberjack gives 1 matt, upgrades to mill gives 4 matt, upgrades to "guild" give

I have to admit that i haven't gone through the tech tree too much as i am still getting use to the game, but i have been following the thread. One simple game mechanic that could be altered is the speed at which buildings and troops are manufactured. an outpost could build a few buildings, perhaps 3, which the intent is to be used with defensive items like walls. Probably a limit of one resource building magic, matts or gold producing building etc. lv 1 city - building restri
