However there seems to be some ungodly slowdown involving horses and archery..... sigh. i'me trying not to give up on horses but i am currently switching my troops over to magically enhance foot troops to compensate, which is slowing down my rushing tactics. Genghis Khan would not be pleased.

1). new enchantment spell: Golem Sims. This spell is an enchantment placed on a city that creates a training environment that enables all newly trained units to have more life experience when they start out due to the interaction with the Golem Sims. All units trained in this city start out as level 3 instead of lv 1. Should any of the sovereign's children make use of the golem facilities there is a chance they can make yahoo with any Golem Sim which has the percentage chance in resul

the kingdom should have a civ tech advance that lets them build a bakers shop in a lv 2 town. this shop will provide +2 gold and +2 food for the kingdom and cost 10 matts and 5 iron to build. once magic weapons and armour are researched in the magic tech tree it will unlock an option to upgrade the bakery enabling you to bake gingerbread golems. These can be trained into squads of 4 8 12 "man" units.

currently iron ore is playing that role in my game 250+ gildar a turn, 60+ matts a turn (only cuz i stopped building matt resources), .3 horses a turn, 3 crystal a turn, 3+ diplomacy a turn. 1 friggin metal ore with all adventuring tech researched !!! let the reign of the padded armour begin - we goin' conan style to warrhhhhhrrrrr.... call me king of the cheesy spells but i find that titan's breath to push units back and mudslide to take away their action points is a very useful tactic to let my magically enhanced (items and spells) 12 man archer squads of doom tear units apart toss a few walls down and you get three turns of shooting for very cheap mana. edit: oh, and darvin3, is that picture a harlequin ? or something else ?

What i am currently doing is building a city near resources so i get the production bonuses. If i have lots of food i delay getting caravans - but once i do get it i gradually fill in the wilderness areas so i have safe roads. i try to leave some wilderness zones to get some xp for new heroes and my sov. I tend to imbue as many heroes as possible and don't spam summon monsters - i restrict myself to earth and one other element mainly. i love the lower/ raise terrain spells. (yes i love populo

i've taken to writing down a list of my most important towns atm on some paper. I usually take the gold bonus unless i have the tech or arcane +5 resource available. I just realized recently while looking at the individual city info cards that the bonuses all stack - i assumed that the level up bonus replaced the previous ones so this changes my strat a bit for the future - i might have cities that do +10 arcane, +20 tech and +30 gold for example. you know, if units did get xp e

yes that's right, and MOM also had a life spell to give units max xp when you made them, and the final "unit" type building in the warfare line gave units maxp xp as well - the spell just saved you time and money at the cost of mana per turn (only had a small upkeep though). So no one knows anything about the feats for heroes ? guess they nixed it then or planned it for a later expansion.

I haven't done it yet but i thought maybe the spell could target a town and blow stuff up... it would explain its cost if it did that. edit - i mean if it does exactly what it says in th description, it would make it an instant kill spell for anything in the world map.... or i may be misreading it [e digicons]:D[/e]

since people have brought up heroes, aren't heroes supposed to gain feats as they level or did that not happen ?

Marlowe i think what you are saying is a good point so i am refraining from giving any new suggestions atm - not that i know if my suggestions are new or not because i have not been following the beta. So i am eagerly awaiting the next big patch and will enjoy what i have right now. There is such a rich media of lore - real world and fantasy - for stardock to draw on, and so many games in the past to draw inspiration from and study what they did right and what they did wrong, an

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but it's thanksgiving here and i'm in too much of a hurry to search the forums. I know what happens when a hero gains a level but what happens when a unit gains a level ? do they only get more hit points ?

download denied, you have entered the wrong password. You did however get access to the my little pony mod that frogboy [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e] was making in secret. I hear it's his true vision of what the game should be like. Watch for the centaurs.

What gazz described is exactly what happens - which if you cast many lower terrain on the cloth map, causes the game to go all wonky and it crashes. It's probably trying to figure out the differences between the cloth map and the other one. anyways i never cast lower terrain on the cloth map anymore. not after today :P which is when i started doing that - too bad it was faster that way.

heh - i used to think i would never run out of materials ever - but i'm on turn 433 of the game that started this thread and i'm scrambling for every single piece of resource i could find. I killed 2 ai early on and slowed down on expanding my number of cities and went monster hunting to level up my cities - i left some wilderness area's to spawn them so that helps a bit - lets me get xp for my sov so i can imbue more heroes. This works since the spouses mana pool contributes to t

i find that in mountains you have to carve your way through them, simply casting the spell once or twice wont be enough. I've never had the spell not work not. Also, the terrain the cloth map does not update properly after the spell is cast - mountains on the cloth just dissapear as if the land went flat but there is still a hill there. This might be what is causing the problem. Yes. ai's stuck in a circle do seem to be a problem, although if currently the maps are prepared in

i usually opt for pioneers first over gold mine because then i get get another workshop and arcane as quickly as possible that way. food before gold, then tech after gold is my priority. It's just the way the requirements work for maintenance. so when i play its food > gold > tech and matts and arcane whenever possible. Whenever i build an outpost i plop down workshop and arcane as quickly as possible, then other stuff depending on what i can comfortably maintain. (food is

there might be an issue where casting a lot of lower terrain on the cloth map might cause the game to crash - i'm currently casting 3 to 20 of these spells every turn at the moment and the game happens to be crashing a lot. i'll stop casting it in the cloth map and see if it continues.

oddly enough i rushed into 12 man squads. I was surprised how even the staff and club they start off with is effective when there are so many of them. Regenerating hit points takes a loonnnng time after a battle so that is my only current complaint on the game. It was refreshing being able to absorb a 100 point hit and dish out more damage instead of dieing lol. (hunting monsters with them). Peasent mobs. Gotta love it.
