does this mean you're working on the weekend, or more work done on monday? (no pressure) edit: also, i'm not really sure what to feel about ai heroes walking around with more than 5 different wounds. Maybe they should heal after some time. This does make the ai considerable weaker doesn't it? (not having the heroes heal i mean)

No worries frogboy - take the time you need. I'm playing a game now i'm enjoying. Ythrils juggernauts look funny when their shrunk. In my game (world challenging ai challenging) i was able to make three towns (one of each) before the wild animals started attacking me. It gave ythril the time to take out pariden gilden magnar and somebody else. Flaming wall is SOO much fun.

I know that they can scale down pretty small. I've had soldiers hit with multiple shrink spells and they get ===>> ooo| ..p... |ooo
I agree with Trojasmic. It's very easy to specialize your towns to producing wealth. We have these differences to promote alternate styles of play. If you don't like the purchase cost of the higher level heroes then we can talk about it. How about sacrificing a certain level of item to hire the hero, or a quest? The tech cost is there to put brakes on the hero system so that it doesn't get out of control and ruin the game. Don't like, then please have a reasonable alternative
I believe that effect was removed and it is a relic of units having mana in WoM.
I have the feeling that you're right about the following unit triggering the same autocast that causes the problem, i will pay more attention an grab some screenshots the next time it happens.
I still see this bug. It occasionally hits with any ability that is supposed to go off before the first round of combat. Instead of opening combat with a fire spell like i would like with my mage i have to run to the back and hide.
Ah humour ... sniffle~~
hmm, sorry i guess i wan't clear. You use gildar to pay for hero upgrades, which can get expensive when there are a lot of them. Helps keep henchmen in check a bit, except if you mass produce them as ranged army buffers, then they can be glass cannons.
Influence is very much used to manipulate the AI.
Interesting. I believe his point is we are speculating over things they had not meant to use influence for. gildar for heroes and army upkeep. metal for army production. influence to hire henchmen, probably explained away that you lose diplomatic power as you hire more henchmen, kind of like stocking up on icbm's mana
Some intriguing ideas GfireflyE but i'm not sure how much the dev's are willing to spread around unit costs. I like the difference it presents in that a hero is a political unit rather than a military one, with more versatility. You could introduce a skill for path of the governor that generates more influence. In addition, i wish that alliance techs unlocked a diplomacy screen in which you could purchase improvements for your recruitable allies in order t
Bump i will have a look at blender this coming week, i hope its freeware lol. might be able to swing a student version of photoshop if my daughter in high school counts as a student...
i rarely find mana an issue, but you could always invest in conclave towns - raze and resettle them - BURN THEM ALL
teach them magic with books and blow stuff up. When i feel like roflstomping i creat a custom altar pariden hybrid faction to mass produce fire mages.
On a more serious note, I think my favourite quest is the assassin's dagger because it has several steps to it. Too many one off quests. It would be neat to start a weak quest that extends for many steps ending in a major event that you have to really work hard for. Not for some game breaking item, but for something that you can't get from research. I agree with kongdej, in that the game needs more puzzle quests
I humbly swear not to tease xia for at least another month. I just can't stop staring at the eyepatch.
OMG I just found a quest that allow me to upgrade my war unicorns to fire breathing pink horned war ponies. Next thing you knowthey'll upgrade to bunnies. pink fluffy bunnies with strange twitchy noses. And what's the thing with the carrots, does anyone really need to have that great eyesight?
I was using the ignys bow today, and i saw my arrows go to the side of the screen, rarely happens to me. However, what was a suprise was the arrows coming in from the other side and hitting the target. Seems the screen is wrapping around somehow and the arrow is taking the shortest path. EDIT: i wrote this up because i don't recall anyone mentioning the wraparround possibility.
I love the quest that gives you the pink pony resource tile. I think it's really cool you can upgrade it into war unicorns. Grats on the great quest frogboy! [e digicons]O:)[/e]
perhaps your right about utility and magical units being too much of a bother to program in at this point, but i really think the extra build queue for the fortress would help a lot since it's only for units. This feels equal in power to me to +1 essence. Perhaps put it in as a level 3 building, but then i would always pick it. I think it should be part of the package of being a fortress town.
The balance of the game seems better, however the build queues are slowing everything up a lot. I thought if the fortress settlement got its seperate build que back for training units that would help a lot. Perhaps conclave settlemenst could have a seperate build queue for magical units and towns could get build queues for utility and defender type units.
Xia wants pink sea ponies.
drat i meant to write i will do his dishes if he buys me a copy of maya... sigh
Will there be freeware capable of adding models to the game or will we need to use maya? (If the latter i will do your dishes for ....counts on fingers.... a long time if you buy me a copy)
