isn't there some way to make a definite "end" to a turn so that cumulative bonuses and penalties don't spiral out of control? I know they seem to have hard coded a minum 3% initiative, but is that enough of a roadstop? I like haveing regeneration in combat, but the current initiave model makes it broken. How can you change it so that you have distinctive rounds occure, you have your multiple turns in a round, regeneration fires once, and then a new round starts,<

I finished reading the article. What did i walk away from it with? An obsessive need to know what was the minor game mechanice they were discussing. sigh. I'm hopeless.
Dang it, i knew i had a reason to go to the beer store today....
I would imagine they would add scripting possibilites as they work on the officail scenarios, quest, campaigns etc. Now that they have a set system in place, i hope they can add to it.
ouch i think i got a paper cut.
surely there's a connection methinks.
after we use a healing potion/ ration could you please put units into defense mode otherwise all they end up doing is lasting another round or 2 by being flatfooted. or include a defensive potion use skill that's not path dependent.
it's in the 2 days to release post.
Ai is still razing towns despite the 5 turn limit. Makes it hard to defend your towns.
ai's are defineately doing quests, but they are still not using gear very well. This is probably why you couldnt find very many if you spent a good deal of the game stuck in a corner. Not sure what impact this will have on the master quest.
so what do you consider to be the core files you don't want to touch ? (i'm getting up to speed on the modding side of the game :P )
snip - polistes answer is better than mine
you know, when it comes to tah trandom xp thing, i'd like to see little fireworks or something go off to tell me the unit got the xp - mind you it also need a toglle to turn this effect off too lol
it's the line"without modding the core file" that has me stumped. I'm kinda scratching my head at that one.
add an automatic second trait that negates it, but i think you mean you don't want the trait to show up in the menu. i've glanced through the xml, i don't have the whole thing mapped out - was waiting for release to do that since i don't have time to constantly redo work every beta update. perhaps if you added a line, say "sean's personal filter string=keep", in the core file that you could use to filter out the traits you dont want
last i heard that is working as intended, don't recall any changes in the logs about that.
hear hear (omg1000hours) hear hear 1000+ hours (ok, maybe if i could stay awake all night and ignore my children... hmm looks at coffee package.... i see pink elephants)
[e digicons]^_^[/e] every time you do it, i'm hoping for my next little early christmas present... [e digicons]:cylon:[/e] than reality sets in and the cylons get me....
i think i have 92 i hate autoturn, it never goes off when i want it to, something is generally left undone when it triggers - plus and most importantly, it gives me a chance to look around the world and see if anything is getting close to me - not that the vision of town is that great... guess i should have more units out watching for stuff.
err, aren't we still on 992 or is this the second mini-micro-teenie-weenie update ?
i long for the day when i give my mages staves and wands rather than dagger to make them able to cast spells more often ...
I have had this happen as well. I abondoned the game and restarted it's non-responsiveness. I might have loaded my autosave but it was a ugly start and early in the game so there was no point.
regarding the shrink, it's not the first jagger, or 5th, it's the 500th one that kills you. sigh. I'd just as soon they leave this weakness it, call it a feature and put it into the description of the creature. Mind you, it would be nice to fix it for other modding purposes. Dear god though they need a weakness. my poor militias. i hate ythril when he gets rolling. everyone else has 40 power, and he has 1000 from all the juggernauts.... <
Mind you i can only guess at this since ythril has been rolling over everyone in my last few games.
'nuff said. as in "enough" hence, i put it in the back by mistake, not the front. repeat after me. "Brad Wardell needed an editor for his book, I would not. It's just this keyboard that can't keep up with my thoughts" edit: SORRY BRAD WE'RE NOT DRAGGING YOU THROUGH THE MUD HONEST
