Elemental FAQ for beginners - please ask your questions here » Forum Post by phazonfreak Here is a link I used when I started. Monsters are tough from normal on up both on frequency & numbers. Once you build a city you can visit the shop and arm your Sov. Research weapons to get some basic armor/upgrade weapons---must have in the beginning. Play on a lower level. You will have a better chance to get a feel for the game.
I am more interested in the Orcs that you USED to able to create when defeating the Ore keepers. Idk if it's a glitch at his point but for me ---that was the only reason for their existence. I just killed them and like Charlie Brown on Halloween---I got a rock. [e digicons]:(O[/e]
Why would you want to build it? It is so limiting and only in the rarest of occasions does it ever benefit. I have been playing since August and it is the lowest of priorities on my tech list. I am curious as to what advantages it gives you. Would you mind sharing?
They probably dream about Elemental
Alas, I play so much I dream Elemental with Inception/Tudor variation. That is either good or bad depending on your point of view.
me too CDT'd after 50 turns or so--not sure. Should have paid more attention. 3 units exploring. 8 or so cities... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16468196/debugLV1.err
I just want to play the damn game.
LOL. Ditto.
They seem to have some awesome stuff.
Examples? They got killed early in my current game. I'll have to find that city and see if the shop items are there.
Why would you download Beta versions if you didn't wanna beta test?
LOL--perplexed as well
Elemental up to its potential.
YES it is. I just got a look at the latest version. WOW. Amazing! I got a small taste of the AI strategy---nice! Can't wait to see all the other cool things as well the game's continued development. Thanks for the commitment & hard work--it is appreciated.
Once again there seems to be a lack of any testing on Stardocks end!!
Hmm..what an interesting point of view.I had not thought of it that way. Personally, I think it's great and the game seems to be shaping up nicely. The fixes seem to happen as fast as the patches. SD is resourceful to use the community for feedback. Granted, I am not getting far with games but I use this to experiment with different difficulties & tactics. Thanks Stardock!
my computer is the mistress,
My one true mistress as well. I was merely figuratively embellishing. One woman & a computer with a great game is hard enough to juggle. Two women & Elemental? Madness. In my limited experience women do not like to share the attention/affection of their spouse--be it with a darkling, a computer, a faithful chihuahua or another woman. My wife thinks we all play too much Elemental, are too involved in these forums when we cou
Why do people write this? Who cares?!?
Why do people pop off without respectfully considering the possible reasons behind a given action? Personally, I wasn't sure why Heavenfall posted that but given his contributions to the community, I knew he had a valid reason. After reading through the thread, it was apparent. I think a little less pathos and a little more logos would go along way. IMO---I could be wrong Last time I checked... “Fear is
Anyone else have this problem?
I used to--maybe back in September. Since then, if I decide to pursue the quest, it has not been an issue.
I feel ya. I am playing more defensively that I have previously. Getting basic weapons/armor upgrade has superseded the civics branch of the tech tree. I rename Janusk "Mercutio" I make sure my capital is secure before branching out. I haven't figured out all the nuances--in addition to the monsters I am experiencing economic issues. I am just trying to balance defense/survival with economic prosperity. I have to say I like the changes so far--hard to list because of the fast up
It depends. idk. too many updates. what works? what doesn't? i just go w da flow......
Thank you for the explanation. I appreciate the preemptive strike. Lock down has little positive connotations. I have a very old dachshund with a bladder problem. he generally marks his territory on my wife's newly shampooed rug while I, oblivious to his needs, play Elemental. I am told that one of us has to go:/ This is the first game that I purchased on released date. Crash/bugs/whatev----i love it. thanks for the experience! Rare is when feedback is solicited f
What constitues a late game save? I have a saved game that is over 300 turns in, but I have only 5 cities, none higher than level 3, and practically no army to speak of...
That's a good point. I've had games at 300-500. My strategy always varies. i have had little as 5 cities up to 14 in the current beta series. The newest seems the most challenging. It is the first time I have really had to focus. I would imagine late game is when you know you've won
Yea I am, been busy, new girl,
You are stronger than I. I am desperately trying to get in as many turns on this new version as possible before my wife gets home with Chinese (something she hates & I love so I frackin excited when I get it..) my mistress already dumped me :( couldn't compete with the wife AND Elemental. The newest version looks great. The downside is Thursdays is the general release date. Thursdays happens to be my Monday. I will say that I am more p
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16468196/debug.errbq%20%283%29.txt I experienced this very early in the game. I do have to say things look great even for the short time I played. The AI seems like it woke up. I was put on the defensive early in the game. AWESOME! keep up the good work!
Save up more shineys. It's just like going out to a bar. She won't talk to you if U don't has da benjamins.
lol. I see your point but that has not always been the case for me. I usually have more than enough chedda and to spare--and I still get shined. However, I do persist. I bugged my wife until she broke down and went out with me. On 2 occasions I have bugged a group of NPC's with a champion leader relentlessly as though it was my one shot with Beyoncé. They
