Maybe a slight tangent, but mentioning the show made me remember Rome. I kind of miss that show.
Not a tangent really---that show was badass---imo ---a mirror of the Martin's world--hopefully HBO puts that passion into Thrones. This is a major commitment i think---they have to stick with it like the Sopranos --or like Battle Star Galactica--great series/characters/plot. That would be my only concern--they gotta finish it!
the concept for the family tree in War of Magic was inspired by this series. Great series of books.
YES!! I have. Funny, I commented on your "Merlin" post before I saw this. I loaned my tattered copy of GOT to a friend. Alas, she likes the "Twilight" series [e digicons]>:([/e] I suggested this series of books.--much more character depth, sweeping epic landscape, lore etc...anybody who has read knows. She can't stop reading and talking about it. I chuckled when I ra
I've recently discovered a British show called Merlin
interesting turn of phrase--very neutral zonish---but I'll check it out. I've been gearing up for Game of Thrones. I also have the Borgias & Camelot on DVR..though I have not seen it (How you have any time for TV is a truly staggering dagger of the mind concept); I'm at work, playing Elemental or browsing the forums. Wife cannot understand my lack of interest in American Idol & Dancing with th

Heavy question..I'll attempt to answer. First of all,I made an agreement with my wife that all games must be a mutual decision. This makes acquiring all that I want, at the very least, challenging. my wife thinks I have TOO many games. She gets pissed that I don't play the ones I have, rants about the ones I haven't even opened, and then whines when I play one too much because I am not paying enough attention to her. "Wow, " she laments, I wish I was that keyboard.
I must be strange... I play to win when I play strategy games and I play them all the way through to the bitter end. That's why one of my biggest gripes has been the AI. I actually want to lose so that I can rehone my strategy and try again. I was only able to win about 50% of my Civ IV games on emperor. That was great! I loved the challenge. Speaking of Civ IV, I really liked its HOF scoring system.

I've won with the magic condition. I felt it anticlimactic--same with the master quest. Other than the fun factor, terraforming a wall around you isn't really necessary. You can easily win with out it.
