1.09w very frustrating

Prior to 1.09w I was able to play crash free, was fun! But now with the new patch I am constantly crashing. I hope a fix comes out soon!

Yup, same here. I'm constantly crashing about turn 100 or so with only one city and almost none of the map explored. On one hand I'm excited about all the updates happening, and on the other I'm quite frustrated that it still feels like I've paid $50 to beta test a very buggy game for several months...

If you can.. use a file hosting service like dropbox (its pretty neat and its free) to post the entire zip file.

which will be named something like Elemental1_0-2010-08-26T11-11-06-474  and be located in the following directories.

On Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic

On Vista/Win7: C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic

TBH posting that it crashes without any data to help them locate the issue isn't helpful *_*

Why would you download Beta versions if you didn't wanna beta test? Your logic (or lack there of)confuses me..
Last I want to note that when you UPDATE you need to remove your old user files/game saves custom sovs factions etc. Using Old ones with a new version of the game can cause instability.

out of curiosity, if you need the internet connection to play the beta, what is the purpose of the connection if you still need send them the files ?

The connect was so they could make changes on their end without having to push out a new patch.   It would be bad practice for them to upload files from your computer.

dont play beta then simple as that,

i actually played to turn 800 with out a crash, it only finally crashed the nwhen i loaded a game, wich seems to be my main instance of crashing is either making a a new game or loading.

im running similar system,

Intel core 2 quad q9550 2.83

Nvidia 465 1gb evga'

win 7 x64

8gb ram,

i have my page file set to 25gb tho ive noticed it helps with games with memory leak issues, i dont know if thats the cause but try doing that, set it to 25gb on ur primary hard drive, usually c:\ . chance it could help with it. 1.1 shold be coming soon u could just wait for that,

LOL, ya after rereading my post it didn't seem to make a lot of sense. The non-beta version is still pretty buggy for me. I actually tried the beta versions in the hopes that some of the issues have been addressed, but it seems to crash even more often.

I think you misunderstand my post..I said pre 1.09W was nice. I enjoyed 1.09v it was very stable and I plaayed a few games thru...however now, i am unable to play for more than 10 min at a time, and as the AI's grow, that time gets cut to 6 or 7 min at best before the system just locks up and ceases to respond....I am letting the Devs know, that there is something wrong with 1.09W :)

In all fairness have any of the "release" versions been stable. I think alot of the people who have been saying their beta testing the game mean every version not just the ones marked as beta. People are frustrated and instead of jumping to the old "don't complain you clicked the beta box" is alot more complicated here than it usually is in other cases. With Elemental the game was released in what alot of people might not even consider a beta state. Within the actual beta alot of people were perplexed at Stardock calling development versions "betas". I think stardock themselves became confused internally between developing the engine and developing the game and just kind of put the version number of the engine on the game.

Cut people some slack they paid for the game and by most objective standards no version they have recieved to date would really qualify as non-beta.
