As of 1.19 The Memory Leak Is OUT OF CONTROL

FIX THIS

The game is almost completely unplayable in this state (a whole six minutes between the crash, last time).

Please swear up and down you will not release 1.2 without nailing down, and murdering the memory leaks.

I've e-mailed stardock support and codecritter a pile of error files with saves, to help your ruthless murder (so far unsuccessful) of this bug.

I'm having this issue as well. The game played fine for roughly 150 turns, now it's about every 3 turns I hit the Out of Memory error.

Also BUG:

Cast Arcane Weapon on a stack of units. You get the dialog screen for every unit until the last (which is the way it should work), however, that last Arcane Weapon spell goes on the highest unit in the stack instead. I can put a seemingly unlimited amount of spells on a unit in this case.

More crashes. Emailed as online attachment.

Edit: Think I have found a way to post link to my skydrive files here https://cid-08504392ff7c5f94.office.live.com/self.aspx/More%20Elemental%201.19%20OOM%20Crashes/Crash%20Rollup.zip

I also have OOM error galore. I hardly ever had them before so it is certainly a 1.19 issue.

Same here.  Had my share of them prior to the patch as well, but it's at an incredibly higher rate now; just as expected.

I actually got OOM errors for the first time ever with this patch, after about 100 turns or there abouts and it happens pretty consistanctly. Oh well it is a Beta patch after all and one of the dangers of trying to optimise memory management is you accidentally create bugs like this.

Pretty sure they won't go official 1.2 without nailing this down, after all no point in a beta patch if you aren't going to address serious issues when you find them.

Thank you all for sending in your bug reports.   Fixing these memory issues is a HIGH priority for us, and we are working on it. Please continue to send in your reports, the more data we have, the more we can identify what is causing it.

Thank you.

For me, a reliable way to get an OOM error is doing the folloing:

1. start Elemental with the cheat parameter

2. start a new game (large map with 4 factions)

3. quicksave the game, then reveal the map with control u

4. look around a bit on map, then exit to main menu, goto 2.

after doing this 10 to 25 times elemental will eventually crash after pressing control s.

Here is another.

If you want to Crash the game, just go to the Workshop, select Cartographers Table, then load any Map, then load another. CRASH...

If you can load 3 in a row, please send in your configuration as mine won't.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad  CPU   Q9300  @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz

Memory: 7166MB RAM

Card name: ATI Radeon HD 4850 X2

For me, a 100% (never, never fails), ironclad way to get an OOM crash, is: play the game, inevitably, it will crash.

Yep, cartographer was giving me fits the other day. Crashed 4-5 times I think before I was able to finalize a map.

I just got the OOM crash too.  Maybe will upload my error file later.  Too frustrated now.

OOM crashes happen every time I take a option on the tech tree that auto updates many things. Like housing or sages then try and save the game. or the auto save kicks off. if I reload and then take a different tech the game continues fine until I take the housing tech later on. then it crashes again.

As a test I was able to take the housing tech later on by destroying all the huts in all my towns the turn before then when the housing upgrade happened nothing got auto updated and I was able to continue and start rebuilding all the houses.

This only happens in the late game when you have lots of housing or other things to upgrade.

But it always happens when you try and save the game, wither you quick save, auto save, or exit to main menu and save.

I was about to report this one as well.

Other bugs:

-Out of memory on autosaves/saves

-Occasional hangs on loading saved games

-Alt-tabbing will occasionally crash the program - DX9 error (invalid cell)

I find that if I access the store to buy weapons/armors for my heroes a couple times in one turn, I tend to get OOM errors.  And, later in the game, I get them regardless of what I'm doing every 5 or so turns.  I'll try to replicate the store OOM problem.
