Population just seems to be buggy. Get a lev 5 city up to max population then load and check the population again. Check the number in the little info tab, not the bar.

You just change the setting in impulse to allow beta builds to be installed. It is in the little options menu in the upper left corner of the games tab.

As with anything I think this could be done as long as care is taken in balancing. Honestly I like the idea of trading one resource for another as long as it is done in a reasonable manner. The only real issue I see here is that using a high number of city squares doesn't really equate to a cost when food = more cities = more squares. I am sure a balanced exchange rate can be found but I doubt they will do something like this until after 1.1 is released. Perhaps after

If the stuff was there but not visible before you got the tech then you would just run into odd areas that you could not build on, or you would destroy resources by building. I think spawning near your hometown is better.

Yeah i considered the reduced move cost but it seemed strange that a hero who was quick (more action points) somehow magically makes his horse faster. I think splitting the two apart is the way to go. I guess you could say that more agility = better riding skill but the idea that most of a horses speed comes from the rider seems a bit odd.

Did this correct the issue with lev 5 city pop re-setting to a lower level when you load? It was causing me major gold issues after crashes since suddenly my population would be dramatically lower. It was not because the saves was several turns old as i set it to auto save after every round and my gold income was high and positive at all times until the crash. Upon reloading my lev 5 cities would have a listed population of 670 but the population bar would still be full.&nbs

I think the issue is that while it makes sense for movement to be increased by a horse, it doesn't make sense for you to be able to cast more spells/swing your sword more times. Currently in combat you use only tour combat action point pool. To deal with this issue they would have to split movement apart from combat actions. If they allow a horse to let you take more non-movement actions, it will be silly.

I think it is a bit lame that it is currently pretty easy to max all the tech trees, aside from the never ending techs (+10% x). Instead of increasing the amount of points per research, i would like to see a much wider range of techs. Make all the trees about twice the current length so that the very highest tech take a very long time (and dominate) but must be taken at the expense of having a shot of reaching the others in a typical game.

Each time i load my game my population in my level 5 city dropped. I think it was setting it to 670.

Actually, I think most of us are rather disappointed at the current state of the game, however, as with many other aspects of the game, AI is being worked on currently. Honestly I only fire the game up once or twice per build to see the current state of things. More important to me than AI right now is the lack of stability.

I think it is a bit silly that you have all that population and they stand there looking at vast areas of empty land going "Damn, out of space. Guess we can't build anymore. Unemployment skyrockets and the people rebel. Tile limits are silly when you can't use a tenth of your population without hitting them.

Any of you having issue with enemy units becoming invulnerable? 100% spell resist and 0 damage from attacks? I mean they guys have a defense of 4 vs attack 20+ and I can't damage them.

Though console gaming hurts pc gaming, it wont kill it without a lot of changes. There are types of games that just wont work on console unless you dramatically dumb them down as to fit the console controllers. I mean really what PC gamer doesn't die a little inside when they see a game they were waiting for with hit PC and X-box or PS3? You know you will see a game striped down to fit consoles and the controls will be terrible.
