Yeah, that's definitely the more elegant solution. I was thinking an actual item to consume, similar to a potion. If the store accepted other resources other than gold, it would be the best solution (I think). But, until then, I think I will go with your suggestion, something which I should have thought of myself, but I was tired at the time, and focused on trying to do the potion kind of thing with it. Thanks for the idea.

One thing I would like to see changed a bit is store items. I'd like a way to have the payment method be anything, rather than just gold. For instance, you find some elementium, and want to craft a cool item for your sov, and the store can do it for a small amount of gold, and the elementium you just found. I don't think this would be too tough to add, but I could be wrong.
Your population now generates income. The more people in your city, the more it generates. However, watch what you build, as a lot of the buildings now have a maintenance cost per turn.
Well, I guess 1.1 got me interested in Elemental again. I'm cleaning this mod up to be good with 1.09n, and also adding something new to the Cybermen. I'm adding an oil resource to the world. The cybermen are slow. The core units have a movement of 1. I wanted to add a different twist to these guys. So, you have to keep them oiled to keep their speed at a better level. You harvest the crude oil, then there will be a quest that spawns when you get oil, which you can go to to convert the crude
Funny thing is, if they port it to Apple, it wont be long until Linux (Mac OS is derived from a unix variant).
And yet another. Save: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8949112/2/AutoSave2.EleSav Dump: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8949112/2/Elemental1_09n-2010-11-20T00-47-08-24.zip
And another crash. It seems very crashy so far. I can't seem to get through too many turns....err..sorry, seasons. Save : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8949112/2/AutoSave1.EleSav Dump file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8949112/2/Elemental1_09n-2010-11-19T23-37-41-299.zip
Make sure you click the blue box in the left corner of impulse, and make sure show prerelease versions is checked off.
Here's the autosave. And yes, I think I had clicked through the heirgamemnon, and clicked through a couple buildings on my city before hitting next turn. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8949112/2/AutoSave.EleSav
I at least got a zip file this time. Lately I havent been getting them from crashes. Here's the zip. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8949112/2/Elemental1_09n-2010-11-19T16-02-24-360.zip
Why not go into floats? Stab of Ice 1.238 has a nice ring to it...
How about you can't train troops in the taken city? That way, you can take advantage of any resource bonuses (more than you could in any of your own cities), but can't train troops.
But if people have to wait a few more weeks or even a month sure the boards will have lots of muttering and ranting but that will all be forgotten if they then release 1.1 and it's a really good solid patch. I disagree with your point about mutterings on the forums. At this point, a lot of people are past this point and are simply shelving the game. Recently, impinc posted on two of his mods a message to this effect, underscoring a
I don't WANT to. I guess I feel like it's pointless to do any modding now until 1.1 comes. I know they're doing their best to get it right, I respect that. It's a tough situation. There are times when I want to be mad at Stardock, but there's only so much a small company can do. Nevermind.

I'm taking a break from Elemental. I posted something similar in my Dpctor Who mod thread. Bascially, I'm bored/burnt out of Elemental, so my drive to mod for it is nearly non-existant. I still have a few tiles from John Hughes to add into here, but I think I will hold off adding anything more until 1.1 comes out, as I'm sure alot of stuff will need to be changed. If anyone feels like they want to pick this up and run with it, go ahead. I haven't spent enough time on this mod. Hopefully 1.1 g
I'm going to be taking (well, I should say continuing) a break from this. Really from Elemental itself. I find myself bored with Elemental now. I try to work on things, and 2 minutes later, I just close everything. I can't even play the game anymore. I don't know if I just burnt myself out or what. While I'm excited about the changes coming in 1.1, I can't help but cringe at what it's going to do to all the mods out there. We'll see how much work there is to do. Hopefully, 1.1 will be great,
Come on now Lord Xia, it's not so secret.
Anyone still interested in this? I've not worked on it in a while, and honestly, if no one plays it, it's a waste of time for me to continue working on it. So, if you play this mod, let me know. If I at least know some people use it, it will be more worth it to continue work on it.
Ahh...short and sweet...I was more hoping of a long weird explanation, but that still made me crack up.
With you Lord Xia, I really don't want to know what that really means..
As far as children go...Make sure you marry someone first of course :). To do so, hire a champion of the opposite sex of your sov. Then, click on them. On the bottom of the screen towards the left, you have the actions this Champion can do. There should be a ring in one of the boxes. Click that, and it will ask if you want to marry this champion. You have to have a certain reputation in order for them to marry you, so make sure your sov has a couple fights under his/her belt before asking to
I'm not quite sure what's causing that. It doesn't do it on mine from what I've seen. The bow that is in the quest shouldn't do THAT much damage. The formula is this : (Attack*.5) + (Dexterity*1) = DMG. Then min value is DMG * -.1, and max damage is DMG *-1.5. So I guess it could hit for quite a bit of damage if the attacker has a high dex. But, there's no way to get it. It has a tech prereq of "Nobowforyou!", so unless a race happens to have that tech, I don't see how everyone can get it. Yo
Actually, Notepad++ can search for text in files, no need for another program. Go the Search menu, then find in files. Or, you can hit Ctrl Shift F. Yes, but you cannot search in multiple files at once.
Yes you can. Hit Ctrl SHIFT F. There are 3 tabs at the top of the search window. One is Find, the other replace (also very handy), and Find in files. You don't have to have th files open
