I have had this problem in previous versions as well. It really breaks the game for me since the only way to prevent the crashes is to only have 1 opponent.

Its still random... I think that there is still a small chance to get a strong item from a low level treasure and a chance to get a weak item from a high level treasure. I could be wrong but thats what it seems like to me.
I'll withhold judgment until Beta 5 comes out since my main issue with the game now is bugs.
Yeah I would say even a 2/4 is a great start despite no essence, if you are next to a forest and an get the extra 2 production/material from a lumber yard. The city won't reach max population ever but you can build enough settlers and units early on to make sure you can scout out and colonize the nice areas before the AI does.
An alternative would be if they added a summon item spell to the game that you can get from the tech tree. While an item designer would be awesome that might be too much work. At the very least they could give you a cheap spell that summons low value items (around 100 value or less, only equip-able items) and then a powerful spell that only summons items above value 100. Item values also have to be rebalanced as well, as you can get a more powerful item that has a lower value than something e
I guess what you are asking for is Mages to have -20 weight capacity so they can't wear armor effectively. This could be attatched to the Path of the Mage choice I suppose.
This happened to me too. I ended up moving my army next to their capital until they declared war on me.
I realize you made an honest mistake but frogboy meant for people to respond to his thread not to make new threads. If everyone did what you are doing, it would make the forums unreadable.
I think they are still playing the rate at which you level up. Once they finalize that they will probably rebalanced the level requirements to be more reasonable. I don't really mind it too much but I would rather they just made the items scale with your level instead.
Pretty sure the bandits are the pets of the Umberdroths...
I do agree that now that its harder to level up its too difficult to get level 5 in one spell casting sphere. Most of the level 4 and 5 spells I never use anyways. There are some good mage robes, they make your spells cheaper and add spell mastery. I think that compared to non-mage gear its pretty limited. I would like to see more weightless gear designed for mages as well as more staves. Right now I think there are 3 mage staves, 3 mage rob
Theres a Champion that gives you a spell called Obsession (i think) that is 25 mana for +5 Production/essence and a 1 gildar per turn, which is slightly better than enchanted hammers. Its pretty rare to get it but maybe worth mentioning. You also forgot meditation, 5 mana for +1 mana/essence. I think that 1 initiative per essence is plenty, you can get up to 5 essence in a level 3 conclave city, that is a bit overpowered.
I play 50/50 on medium and large. If you intend to ever add in an extra large mode with a 64 bit exe, I suggest optimizing for large. Then again, you might want to change the AI when that happens so not sure if thats even worth considering.
My games usually get stuck at ~150 turns, but now with the most recent build my game got corrupted after only 90 turns If they just fixed this one issue and the other small bugs like shrink not working I would be satisfied with the game as is.
I said this before but an EXP slider at world generation that lets the player give an XP bonus to champions will be would fix this problem. It would be nice if it changed the curve at higher levels rather than just give +100% xp but either one would help greatly.
I think bows should have more armor piercing (maybe 25/50/75%) and compensate with with reduced accuracy (-25). That would be more realistic and balanced I think. The initiative penalty should go down a bit as well.
If they wanted to make it a really cool ability they could give the assassin a teleport strike where they appear behind the enemy unit relative to your starting position and then make a normal attack. You could give a bonus like +20% crit chance as well. Since this is strong it should probably be once per combat. Well designed abilities like this would make tactical combat way more fun.
The problem is that facing is pretty random in FE. I think its better to just do general purpose abilities or maybe to do a flanking ability where you just need one other unit next to the target. That is what they did in D&D 4th edition because backstabbing is pretty complex for a simple damage bonus.
Yeah i meant champions but you were wondering why the city you captured went from more production than your capital to less.
I'm still watching #4 but in case you haven't figured it out yet putting soldiers in your cities reduces unrest. Also, you can use focus in melee combat, its a cheap way to get extra damage on your first hit if you time it right.
I am mid-way into a new game with 0.95. One one of my turns where i did many things including fighting a battle and building a few buildings/resources, I also took a newly constructed pioneer and moved it next to a fire shard and built an outpost. I immedialtley queued up a consolate in the nearby city. Then later in the turn I went to a pioneer that had been moving towards its destination. I told it to build an outpost and then realized I meant to create a city. I relo
Next to each city is a big icon with your faction insignia. The shape of that icon tells you what specialization of city it is.
There are level 3 champions that you can get right away, but I don't remember any level 1 champions. The AI like to get heroes very early, so you have to focus on scouting and getting the tech early if you want more than 1 or 2 extra. I find that free hero recruitment is only useful if you also have betrayers with a custom faction.
The AI usually inches forward one space at a time against ranged units making them really strong despite any initiative penalties. Also, I think the auto-resolve feature favors ranged units a little bit, just looking at Lady Irane auto-resolve some battles and not getting any scratches on turn 1. I have been using a shortbow I picked up on a another champion. It is much weaker but useful for those governor heroes who are never going to be great at combat. I do agree tha
Thats funny, I guess the fact that I never build any until late game when I have all the possible boosts to new units makes a big difference in accuracy.
