I have had speed dial available in opera for a long time. I find it annoying. There was a time when I thought it would be cool to set up a home page that had links to all of my favorite websites, but 99% of the time I just click on google anyways. Since modern browsers auto-complete your address bar with recently visited websites, I find that typing 1-3 letters and pressing enter is a very easy way to get where I need to go.

Well, its already set up so you highlight the unit and click cast. They should just copy AoW 2 where you click to highlight, click again to unhighlight, and however many are selected get the buff when you click cast.
I didn't know that accuracy went up with levels too but in general I don't think just HP and Accuracy is enough to justify having a level 20 unit with 3 figures vs a level 5 unit with 9 figures. I am pretty sure level 5 would win. I think you need to add some attack and defense bonuses, even if its +1 / 3 levels or something like that.
I have to agree, based on my experience with 3d games the size or scale of the unit should have nothing to with animations. If casting on self and casting on other are treated in opposite ways, then maybe its something more substantial than a typo in the xml.
I said this before in on of the other Warlock threads, and i'll say it again. I really like Warlock, its everything I ever wanted out of a Civ game. The AI is pretty shabby, and the monsters are too tough/dense, but overall it inspires that one more turn feeling. I personally have 40 hours on it, and my dad probably has way more. It is certainly a game I will come back to years from now, and I am sure they will make some expansion packs too.
1) Vindictus suffers from korean MMO syndrome: Gambling on item upgrades. You can play the whole game for free, but part of the end-game fun is upgrading items. If you upgrade your weapon to +10, then it gets a nice stat and attack speed boost. The attack speed is really important since it enables you to get in hits on an enemy when normally there would be no opening. The chance of getting a +10 item normally is 1 in a million since there is a chance for it to lose levels or even
Its 2 different development teams. 2 different engines. And if thats not enough, i'm sure that the main reason why FE gets these things is cuz Brad wants em and he has alot of power in the company. If thats not enough, Brad is so bad at leadership he ends up doing all the work himself! I hope that soon that people will stop using XP and 32-bit and single-core cpus and we can start taking advantage of technology thats 10 years old when making games.
Brad said they are going to make other games using the Elemental engine... including an RPG. I am voting on that. I doubt anyone wants to work on 4x games for their whole life.
I think Kael said he fixed it but you have to start a new game... give that a try? He said that earlier today so IDK how the timing works out if you started a new game just now...
Now that you mention it, I think having players design the size of the groups seems superfluous. How about all sizes are unlocked at the beginning, but the size depends on the labor cost? So if the unit costs less than 50 labor, its 9 figures/unit, if it costs 50-100, its 7, if its 100-200 its 5, if its 200+ its 3. I don't know exactly what the average labor cost/unit is but something like this would make it more interesting perhaps? This woul
How about Wargs scare horses, giving an attack/defense penalty for a few turns when attacking a mounted unit? Other ideas could be making horses move faster on the strategic map than wargs (I think they should be equal in combat). Giving wargs a howl ability to unsettle nearby enemies, or giving them a melee attack bonus of +2 attack or something.
Well if you made perks that cost 100 or 200 labor/figure it would probably encourage you to make smaller units to some degree. The problem is that because you have a limited number of units per battle (i.e. you cant have 30+ units in battle), you will always want to have as many figures/unit as possible. It all comes down to density. Since units get lots of HP on level up, offensive power is the most important. Iron Golems have high defense but low attack, making them pretty weak over
Well some games I have been designing in my free time: Spectacle fighter + Rhythm Game Fantasy 4x with TBS version of Total War combat simulation (the action plays out similar to frozen synapse). X-Com in a fantasy universe with strong rpg elements For your idea, I think it would have to be one big city/castle that you control and build. Then you have to deal with politics, factions, monster invasions, crime, assassinations, and re
I disagree with turning the initiative queue upside down. Players have been trained to look at the bottom of their screens (look at AoW, MoM, HoMM, Diablo, etc), thats where they expect important info.
In previous versions all monsters moved the first turn... wolves have high movement speed so its probably easier to notice with them. I know its all monsters because players could get wiped out by a powerful monster attacking them before their first turn.
Have you ever gotten a paper cut? It hurts way worse than being bludgeoned! [e digicons]X([/e]
Maybe he meant that he wishes there were dozens of units on the battlefield instead of a handful that look like multiple soldiers.
I'm confused. I haven't played Mass Effect 3 or Dragon Age 2, but every other Bioware game does not require steam. And while yes you could lose access to all of your Steam games, thats pretty unlikely. Meanwhile, people lose physical cds and cd keys very often. Steam is cheap enough for me that even if I lost all of my steam library (75 games/expansion packs) I could get it all back for maybe $150 during the december sale.
The way most 4x games are structured, victory is a race. You choose which route you want to take, and you race down that path. I don't see how encouraging or forcing a player to switch strategies mid-game would improve the game. Yes it might add new strategy, but it also makes it much harder to play the game and makes the game take much longer. What if there are 3 people, each with a different strategy? Who wins? Have you ever played rock paper scissors with 8 people at once? &nbs
I agree, please don't genderlock special units if they are humans anyways.
I buy games on steam because they get discounted heavily at holidays (like $5 for Mass Effect 2). I have never paid full price for a game on steam except for Warlock: Master of the Arcane. I really hate having multiple programs installed on my computer, and I don't like having games spread over multiple services. I also use gog.com and humble bundle to buy games but rarely. I like that humble bundle gives steam codes which allows me to consolidate my library. The fact that e
How about a building that lets you recruit heroes without physically being next to them. This way it doesn't increase the number of heroes, it just saves you from exploring and travel. It could either reveal them on the map and let you hire them remotely, or give you a list and teleport them to the building once you pay for them.
Does the splash damage get multiplied by the number of soldiers in the squad?
I don't see why every version has to be better than the last. The devs need freedom to make mistakes, to introduce bugs, to try things that are overpowered or underpowered. The beta isn't supposed to be fun, its supposed to allow them to get feedback and try things out. I realize it may be frustrating since the devs don't have enough time to acknowledge every issue, to make promises about what will be changed and when, but try to be more patient. You can always wait till the final
If the summons get too weak in the end game, I think that they should increase in power with the number of shards, maybe gain 1 level / shard after the first, or maybe something like +1 Attack and +1 Defense / Shard.
