To be fair... if a champion has 10 injuries, he is going to be really weak anyways. The penalties combined with recovery time that could be spent leveling up is going to make them mostly useless. So i think its fine for heavily injured champions to die even if the AI doesn't manage them properly

The AI probably will suck. Most 4x games have weak AI and I see no reason why FE would be different. Maybe if post-launch there is a dedicated AI patch it could be improved greatly... And Heavenfall... is it possible to make the items drop on death? From what I have seen, neutral champions/monsters have a single item on their drop list, is it even possible for a unit to drop more than one item on death?

I don't think your suggestions would help. Creating magical items.... unless they are locked to your sovereign you could just give them to your champions. Marriage... children are basically just champions... how does that solve anything? Locking your sovereign to a city is really bad... currently you have incentive to level him/her up for prestige. Champions being able to cast spells isn't that big of an advantage. They are important becau

I suggest that you check out the tech report system guide, the linked page should probably be a good example. Also check the next page of the article which has alternate parts you can swap out. Also the forums at that website are a better place to ask for build suggestions, as are the evga forums in my experience. http://techreport.com/articles

I don't think it should be difficult to add... depending on how the AI was written. As long as the UI for it is good (like it notifies you whenever it starts construction on something) I don't see any problem. I do agree that if the AI has to cheat in order to be difficult to beat I am not sure it is good enough to make good decisions here. I suppose that if the human controls the research and tax rate then it shouldn't be too complex to choose the best buil

There is probably going to be discounts on stardock games during the steam sale. I am not really sure if discounting games on their own store would really help since anyone who shops there is probably going to buy stuff for full price before it goes on sale.

Technically you could adjust the probabilities by having duplicate entries of common injuries... though it would be lots of extra work without much real gain.

The dragon eye is used for another question (go to all the dragon statues) And I don't think there is a compilation but most of the things you have posted I have seen many times before.

I always pair up my heroes. They are usually too weak to travel alone, and they still get a decent amount of experience that way. I have my Sovereign paired up with the first champion I hire for the whole game and I get anywhere from 12-30 depending on the size of the map. I do focus more on clearing monsters and getting items than building cities and armies, maybe that helps?
He does mention upgrading the outposts with Wardens to "keep the monsters at bay" so I assume this is the equivalent of militia, no?
Well it could just mess with the monster AI and prevent them attacking. It might not be a garrison, though that might be a separate option i suppose. In the description he said they can "scare away monsters" so thats where I'm getting this.

This update will make the game much more fun for me. So far I have settled into a strategy where I have only 1 city and I just rush all of the world wonders and keep my tax rate at none once the merchant-cross bazaar is built. Having a reason to build multiple cities and having the cities specialize to different tasks sounds great. I hope that once you level up the cities you specialize again (i.e. mana vs research, food vs gold, etc)

Auto-resolve doesn't use mana. If you go into a battle and then let the AI play for you, it does waste lots of mana on buffs that you don't need.

The main thing that bothers me about the combat is that if you play with Amarian blood (Pariden race) then it takes a long time to start the battle because each unit has to buff itself. If the devs could make that instant then it would speed things up a bit. The other thing that bothers me is that auto-combat uses mana. Please add a no-mana auto-combat option.

This would be cool. Quests are really weak right now IMO and open sourcing it would probably be easier than creating 100 good quests.

I don't have a problem with the PC version being delayed if it means that it wont be rushed and inferior quality. I've seen many people say that they shouldn't have to choose between getting an inferior version and a late version, but thats the market reality. Its not a big deal, there are plenty of other games you can play, and you don't have to read any articles or watch any videos of Dawnguard. Plus the PC version has tons of mod you can play around with if you are

I actually played MoM for 50+ hours earlier this year. I play that and Master of Orion 2 pretty frequently... but I like playing old classics more than the watered down "next generation" games that come out these days.

I think that while it is fun, its not nearly AS fun. So I would vote 1. Reasons why: 1) Races/Heroes/Items are not unique enough 2) Almost everything is unbalanced 3) Not enough variety So once all the bugs are fixed, and the game is more polished, I think the core mechancis are fine. They just really need to take it up a few notches on the design side and allow you to play the game really differently... and have equal chan

I think you guys are forgetting that developers come and go pretty frequently. Very few people want to spend their whole life making command and conquer games. They get bored and want to try something new. Also, team sizes have grown over the years so as you add new people to the project you get new influences that will change the direction of the game. Even if we didn't have marketing and other execs pushing the games in bad directions, the franchises we love would

Well considering how their goal for the battles was to be quick and simple I think FPS is the way to go.

I used to wonder why Frogboy seemed to post a little less frequently and then I realized that he posts on ALL the forums. So it makes sense that since he is obviously really busy with work & family that we can't expect him to spend too much time here. Kael on the other hand has been posting more frequently in the last few months so hopefully that will continue. I think in general though people are getting a little bored with Beta 3 so the conversation has died down a b

I think that Corruption is the real unbalanced thing. Dirge is pretty strong yes, i can even use it to kill drakes and such with 10 shards. However the Wither spell is also really powerful. Again, if you corrupt a bunch of shards you can easily wither away most or all of the attack of enemy units. The fact that you can cast it globally before a battle ensues you don't even have to have lots of death mages to cast it. I really like the spells from that trait, though they are

Throwing knives are hard to balance. Against my champion with no armor they did 3 damage each. So I took 9 damage from 3x throwing knives, thats a large amount. However, once you get a little bit of defense suddenly they only do 1 damage. Maybe if you gave them 66% armor piercing that would be enough, but I also think it should multiply the damage by the number of figures in the unit. I do think that if you increase the damage too much then bandits will be extreme
