The manual page 7, says you can pick Land Mass (Continent, Islands, etc.), don't see this in the game, it was in some of the Beta versions. Would like to see this add back in the game yes, I know you can create maps with the editor but, picking map size and map type (AKA Land Mass) are pretty standard fare in strategy games.

Guilds Did they make it in the final release? They were in one version of Beta and disappeared in the next. I liked the idea of special buildings giving access to special units. You can use the lower land spell to lower a shore hex to a beach hex, that allows you to build a Harbor when you have the technology. Harbors no longer have to be part of your city/town, just within your kingdoms zone of control.

This just seems like something carried over from the Civ games, been there, done that! I don't really care that a another kingdom was the first to build the "fill in the blank" achievement, I'm too busy building my own kingdom.

The game really needs dungeons vs. killing the repeated spawning of creatures. Some times the creatures re-spawn all around your party or even in the same hex.

Why should I have to build a town to claim a resource? If you build a town than you have to build troops to guard it. Also towns have to be at 6 hexes apart, so to get some resources you will have to expand the town so it's zone of control covers the near by resources. Then it's building houses, farms, etc. to expand the town. Expanding towns is no longer as easy unless it's next to a food resource. I liked the old way better, having Pioneers capture and build resource

LDiCesare 100% Agree! When you create a new map, there is no feed back, "Map being created" , "World being created". etc. with out looking for hard drive activity lights, one might thing the Map Editor as hung because it take several minutes to create a map.

It's not a bug, food is now a scarce resource, don't build houses until you need them, then only build what you need. A little later in the game, there are spells that improve food production and research under Civics but, even improved farming is now a rare item in research. It's ok, food stays at almost zero until you get the spells and researched food/farm production items. Town/city growth is now slowed down a lot in Beta 4. Right Now Zones of Control extend to water hexes, blocking movement, is this correct? If the only shore hex is blocked by the zone of control of another kingdom, you can't land on an island without going to war!

That's not the issue, Pioneers before Beta4, could capture and build on resources out side of your kingdom and now they can't. Why should I have to build a town just on get a single resource, every see an island with a single resource? Who wants to build and manage 50 mini towns?

Pioneers can no longer capture and build resources on the map in beta 4? Not sure I like this change, now the only way to get a resource is the build a town next to it. This forces you to build more towns and sometimes in useless locations just to capture the resource.
