I don't see how a story (good/bad) is going to have any impact on game play. I would like to see more character interaction and/or random events with npc's. Where not every npc can be hired, trusted, married. Interacting with npc's would be far more interesting than managing buildings in a city. I have party that contains npc's, wolfs, and army units but, only the npc's level up. So should non-npc's creatures and army units level up?

The quests are take them or lose them, if you don't take a quest at an inn, it goes away (lost)! The issue with multiple quests, the map only shows the locations of current quest location needed to complete quest (escort to estate). There is no way to view or track multiple quests (list of open quests) or be able to see multiple locations needed to complete them.
My party was doing an escort quest from an inn, on the way to the estate, I had to pass through two other inns, only path between sea and mountains, I kept getting new quests for each inn I passed through. Please limit the quests to one at a time, so if I'm already escorting some one and have to pass through a inn, I won't pick up another quest on the way.

Game Victory (conquest) seems to be based on last leader left, not cities, I won my first game when the leader of the another kingdom died when attacking one of my cities! That other kingdom had more bigger cities. I do agree, if your spouse dies then you should be able to re-marry.

Is the number of NPC's fixed per game or do new ones (non-children) get created during a game? Is the number of NPC's your empire can have fixed by (existing number of npc's, number of cities, size of empire, etc.)?
I know many parts of the game are disabled/not available but, it does seem there are just not enough things to kill or ways to level up low level npc's.
