i wonder that we could have instant or progressively built roads, planned by the player, but not using any units. Various ways to go about it. If caravans are somehow a limiting factor, then ditch them! These AI routed roads are insufficient, immersion breaking and outright silly. It remains one of the few areas of the game that feel half-assed to me. Perhaps it is on the "to-improve" queue. So much other has been improved. There is only time for so much each cycle. So maybe, roads are o

The map pack begins interesting me beyond just giving another $5 to the team. But darn i still keep thinking about expansion packs. i don't know that i'll be wanting to do both DLC and Expansions. i just rather it all come down thru expansion packs. Trying to keep open minded about this, but i'd rather see DLC used here to bring in stuff that wouldn't otherwise make it in the game. Niche things, minor things, odd things, wild things, off-the wall and outside the canon sorta st

i don't mind assigning roads to workers, but envisioned being able to do so along way points. Is time to build some roads, select worker, click road command, draw out the path. Then let em go. Players all done with that road unless something comes up during the construction. Mostly i don't like the error of roads. Neighbor blocks road with fort. Terraforming destroys road. Road been wrong from day it was built etc. A whole lot of erroneous roads. i'm in

i noticed a significant change. My system is underpowered for FE so i'm still not able to play full games or even short games on medium maps. But it used to be that every time i shut down the game i had to call up task manager in order to shut off a lingering elemental process. Now that only happens when i been playing awhile. If i play overlong, the game crashes on exiting, which freezes the computer forcing a hard reboot. So i don't push it very far. i see significant improvement fr

eek there are pop-ups that get through my defenses on WinCustomize. Generally i see a pop-up and avoid for ever that site. Went to dl Stormworld but that pop-up popped me right the heck off that page. Screw em. Those adverts go too far for me. After seeing them once, i very rarely return. The most obnoxious of the ads i remember and hold some ill will towards the product they attempted to pimp. Means more money for those who keep it all friendly. Will see if i stay off WinC for good, or

i still play Civ3 more than Civ4. Much of that is due to not being able to play huge unmodded maps, or medium sized heavily modded games with Civ4. Civ3 is the better game for me simply because it doesn't have the content limits. And that seems to be due to Civ4s fidgety 3D graphics. i can play massive games on Civ3 with major mods. Some of these mods have broke the code which limits number of cities and units. No problem. Hundreds of cities and well over a thousand units. No problem cept

Space Colony HD A builders strategy game with some RTS and Sims mixed in. i've not been for Sims before, and rarely play RTS. It's mostly 4X TBS for me. But this game intrigues. Watched about forty minutes of a play-thru and got sold. Funny game. A take a motley crew down to a surface and perform a variety of objectives. The crew are dynamic in that they are moody brats. Getting into some hilarious situations. At least for me. i watched part 2 of the fol
Another possibility for road building is that a governor with road building in a city doubles the road building rate
i like this very much. Modifiers to faction wide roadbuilding. Governor doesn't build the roads. Workers do under Governors leadership. Have perks which add to road building rate. Perhaps capping the road line with some " + n Movement

If i had my druthers i'd add a worker unit who could build roads, fortresses and upgrades. The worker stops by a town to purchase the desired building kit. For example, worker buys a Fortress kit (g ildar and perhaps other resources, but not time in the city queue ) and head out followed by a wagon train. They spend the requisite turns building, then the worker remains but the kit has been consumed. Multiple workers stack. i think it would be fun for those times where you

i want to build roads. Don't really want to monkey with workers everyturn since FE has no other worker terraform actions. For roads though, i'd be fine with managing their orders. But with FE, i think one would need just layout the road path one-time, then set them lose. Modify as needed. Would be nice if workers could continue to build while within an army of protectors. Currently the roads often go the wrong bleeping ways. Roads have major impact. When they fail, to

Am about 43 i reckon. New to SD with E:WOM Played DnD before AD&D * been a Civer since Civ1 but not past Civ4:BTS. And Civ2 on PSOne is the only console game i own. Was Civ5 on steamworks that got me looking for E:WOM. Needed a new Civ fix and i choose E:WOM (much of this due to SD's thought on DRM and their plans at the time for Impulse, also their semi-open engagement with the fans, and some more misc stuffs).

i wish for yet more faction differentiation. But am pleased with what we have already (knowing that modders and devs will be adding more). For now i got enough different types of toy soldiers to play with. i mix em all up depending on the story i create for them. Like Tarth, is Huntsmen or Ranger at some times. Brigands and Mercenaries others. Sometimes i create a faction and sovereign whose more ethereal than physical. Sometimes brain dead beasts, reanimated dead, much more. i

Random thought i think fits best in this thread... To engage more of the core TBS crowd, i think a mod ala Civilization but with E:FE's unique features, would interest a bunch of folk whom the fantasy genre did not. i've friends who never did buy E:WOM but who are highly 4x TBS motivated. Fantasy wasn't for them, but tactical battles and an in-game playable civ leader intrigued them. Among other things. Now with E:FE, the time might be right for Brad to

How about a crowd-sourced funding approach for some of the more "off the mainstream" thoughts.. SD proposes a small feature set, those who are interested pitch-in the pre-order cost. If there is enough interest to fund short development of some of these wilder ideas, then SD assigns a flex team to produce it. And fans can collaborate on the forums for various feature sets they'd like to see. Where there appears to be requisite support, the fans might ask SD to look into making i

Congrats on sales. They've been earned as so more. i'm not keen on DLC but have no beef against it where the core games remain content rich. And where DLC does not unbalance MP to a game of credit card swiping. But still the fee based DLC news was surprise to me fore there had been much talk a year and more ago about free DLC being SD's strategy for avoiding DRM. And the extra free content being labors of love from the developers to the fans. 'Course Impulse is gone

Pauls run with Surface makes clear that this tablet, and tablet OS is not for me. Thanks for sharing. i've watched a variety of user vids. This last one caps off a final decision to avoid this tablet. As well the cons list against win8 grows. i seek increased efficiency and productivity. This set-up is not for me.. despite a powerful motivation for the external pointer input.

Some great info here, thanks all! Within this limitation of three: i've a mind to set all players to Fertile, Grassland. Then borrow some brilliance from FfH2, and use Fallen terrain to illustrate a spread of corruption. 'Evil' players of Empire _and_ Kingdom can tech towards fostering its spread. 'Good' players have options to reduce. 'Neutral' players are less affected by Good and Evil tagged tiles. Something along those lines. With alignme
