I've noticed the absence of the Minor Factions border as well. All the other nations borders were fine. You can scroll down to see the time to research for spells. There is no indication that you can do so. I only found out by reading these forums. Would be nice to be able scroll the hero's screen to see hidden data. It's a bonus armor layer. It shouldn't be standard for this slot to be filled. The cloak should be costly to make it a unique slot vs a standard one. And it's gotta be imbued with magic, otherwise how could it rate that armor class. Magic imbued items should have an added cost.

I've played all night and have nearly conquered a medium sized map. Mountains boxed me in so I fired up the war machine and never turned it off. Fun game. I'm generally liking the updates. I've experienced this as well.

UPDATE: Somewhere between 5-10 turns after the shrine was incorporated into the city, it automatically updated to a greater shrine. So it is confirmed that in order to get a greater shrine, one must connect the shard to a city. If there was already a lesser shrine at time of the connection, the greater shrine update will occur automatically. It takes time but eventually you will reap the greater benefits.

With v1.09e, we got one point to apply at level up, but it actually added 3 points to the choosen stat (' cept for move and speed ). With v1.09n we still get the 3 points, but now we don't have to apply them all on the same stat.

Well I've expanded my city to incorporate that air shard (first pic above). But it did not upgrade to a greater shrine. Nor can I find any way to force it. At the moment, it may be that the only way to get a greater shrine, is to get the shard connected to the city before building a shrine on it. If you build the lesser shrine and then later connect, you will be unable to upgrade to the greater shrine. &nbsp

Sometimes when I create a farstriding warrior sovereign, I use creation points to pick up a weapon. Not often, but sometimes. You get a better staff at creation than you do at the store ( you'd have to research tech before getting that strong a staff ). But mostly I do it because I don't want to hang around the city until turn 2 so I can buy a weapon. When I've got a move of 4-5, and have a sovereign set for solo combat, I want them out

It seems that the shard must be directly connected to the city for the greater shrines to take affect. My first game is rich with shards. The shards which connect to the city have greater shrines. The shards which do not connect to the city have lesser shrines. Yep, me2!! I love this game! Like motomouse, I've also just recently gotten it. It has totally dominated my free time; bled over into my work time; and cut significantly into my sleep time.
