Why is Frogboy allowed to have fun in beta whilst we're not? =(

Well, between July and September IS August. =p
Very poorly at the moment. We're still waiting for diplomacy etc to get in.
My favourite undead group of all time is the Legion of D'tesh from the Rise from Erebus mod for Civ4. It's an entire civ founded on the basis of a single city. The city's population is increased by using slavery and turning the slaves into more legions of undead. Absolutely amazing to play. The Scions of Patria are similarly interesting, being
I'd be happy to help out in either a writing or design position. You can probably see a few of my ideas threads littered about the forum, although they're nothing big.
Magic A lot of people have done a lot better on this topic than me, but here are a few of my thoughts nonetheless. First off, the essence system is ridiculous. It's clunky, awkward and makes very little sense. Essence is the sovereign's life force, he shouldn't go spending it on very small things. It do like the whole "spend essence to fertilise the land" thing, but I think it is very, very poor at the moment. I

My dual core laptop is overheating and then shutting down in the latest build. In 0.803, this never happened (I was surprised, in fact, by how well it ran), but it does it consistently in 0.804. There's a few external factors that can be taken into account (my laptop is terrible at dumping heat, it's suddenly got extremely warm in England etc), but I do think the shift has been the major thing. <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/wzhn52tzini/Elemental%20Overheating%20-%20DX
"all of us"? The new build should, overall, feel a bit slower than previous builds as work was done to try out multi-core optimizations starting with quad core; unless you have quad core you will probably notice a significant slow down. As we go forward we will continue to refine performance. The map is also 4 times larger than beta 2a so that should also have a noticeable impact as well.
This explains why

Sometimes ressource becomes available for building when the city level up. I don't know if there is a problem with the city zone of influence because the ressource is always inside it. I always asked myse
So, yeah, I figured that, since apparently there should be far more spells that we can learn, we should probably have a topic to suggest them. Here are a few of mine:- Ignite Forest - You set the forest on fire, burning down that forest tile and having a 25% chance to spread to any adjacent (NESW, not diagonal) tiles. Fire should probably last for a few turns (3, 5, 10?) before it burns down. It should do damage to any troops in the forest, too, whilst it's on fire. It'
I do apologise if anyone has a name like that, but I really don't know HOW to pronounce. Wam-oon-is-per?
I think one of the main troubles with the current game is that it really doesn't matter where you settle, as your sovereign can just pump some of his magic juice into the land and make it green and pretty. If the quality of the land effected how well a city can grow / whether or not you can build gardens etc, I think that'd make a massive difference in terms of city strategy. In GalCiv, your limiting factor in terms of cities was amount of squares on a planet and what bonuses you got
So, yep, ladies and gents, what software should I use to record / edit game videos? For Let's Plays etc? I need something that'll record both microphone and system sound (preferably, anyhow) or an editing software that can integrate WAV files into AVI and can help me make small enough files to fit on YouTube. Any ideas?
This could be modded in, since land creep is already part of the game (and presumably there will be effects other than simply being able to build there). But having the faction on the other plane being represented on their own map while in game would be extremely difficult I think.
Maybe, maybe not. You COULD just make their part of the world a cut off section of the main map (so, it'd be a player made maps only race), if it
dragon age system was shit basicallly if you started with 2 3 buffs you couldnt cast anything how can be fun a system that prevents you to do things?
If the spells are anything equivalent to what I've heard about Master of Magic ones, then it's going to be the only way it's gonna be balanced. =p Crap like summoning volcanoes all over the world.
I don't know if I do or don't appreciate a mana drain. If we've got a "max" mana, then it may be a good idea to go the Dragon Age route of "taking one off" the max mana. Therefore, the more / bigger longterm spells you cast, the less spells you can "barrage" at one time. So, if a player's got a bunch of world enchantments up, they can't go shooting fireballs out of their wazoo. Then again, this all depends on whether spells are meant to be one shot things that last for a few turns (ie
No beta yet? Noooooooo.
start working on the mod that makes all this possible.
It's actually possible at the moment. If you marry one of your children off to another sovereign's, you can marry their kids back to your family. In fact, if you get a male deserter from their dynasty, and they have a female child, you can marry brother to sister.
Neutral factions/cities are in but disabled in the beta.
Hopefully means barbarians. From here .
I have to say, though, I WOULD like an Elemental version of Myrror. Perhaps a third faction, too, which is much more defensive / slow creeping than the other two. ie. Whenever the faction moves into the main Elemental world, they drag part of their own world with them, slowly changing the land into the other world. This would, however, be pretty much a requirement, as their units take small (but noticeable) bits of damage whenever they're not in a corrupted part of the world.
Yeah right. How about DMRM (Draconic Magical Rights Management) on spells you trade with allied Sovereigns? They can learn spells from you but they can only teach them to two of their wizards at a time. And if another wiz wants to learn the spell one of the other two has to call-, and have it erased from memory by you. Also the other sov don't own the spells but just a revokable license to use them for which he has to pay annual fees.
</
