You won't need to give Path of the Governor more than 1 xp/turn while in a city. There are other ways to get more. First, there are the potential traits and they could even move the knowledge trait here. Second, there are buildings. They will fix the adventurer's guild uselessness in Beta 4. Third, you can always sneak the governor out for a few quick battles for easy xp. So simply adding 1 xp/turn whil

For what it's worth, I always choose the best site within view, once I start playing. Otherwise key time (at the very beginning of the game) is lost ... BUT (and as Pee Wee Herman once said, there's always a big butt), I now routinely hit [ctrl] [n], from 10-50 times, until I get
Exactly. Right now the first few turns are a race to pump out pioneers as fast as possible in order to claim land before the AI snatches it all up. Unlike most of players I don't think this would really be stopped by making pioneers more expensive, you would still have to rush them it would simply take longer. Instead i see the problem being monsters. Monsters don't really limit expansion, it's very easy to build aroun
I am also not a fan of the pace of play at the beginning. It doesn't feel like rebuilding an Empire as much as it is a race. As far as Pioneers, I think they should cost more, and it should cost materials, gold, and 10-15 turns to build an outpost. Right now you click outpost and poof, it is built and done. Everything else in the game takes time to build, why not the outpost. If you add all of this up, I think you would control the pioneer sp
I'm fine with roaming monsters accidentally destroying structures. I was playing as Tarth and build a mine right next to a dragon spawning drakes that would bump into it and destroy the mine. It forced me to deal with the dragon, but on my own terms.
I agree, roaming monsters should destroy things from time to time. Just make it true for the AI sovereigns as well.
I agree with the concensus of the governor getting experience while in a city. I also like the idea of having a city improvement of some kind that allows any stationed champion to gain experience. Some sort of training ground.

I usually see 3/3 4/2 4/3 or 5/2. On the rarest of occassions I have seen a 5/3. Do most of you just settle right where you are at, maybe a tile or two from the starting position, or do you really look around?
I think monsters should target outposts, but I also think we should be able to station troops in an outpost. Restrict the ZOC to 1 tile from the center of the outpost. I would also like to see outposts cost some money to build, and have a build time of 10 seasons or so.
I am fine with the monsters and brigands attacking my city. In fact I wouldn't mind it becoming more so. My problem is that the enemy sovereign settles a city right next to a Shrill Lord and the rest of its brood, and doesn't get attacked. The it also had a shard in range so the sovereign got the shard and a built in defender that I was no where near capable of defeating.
My biggest question with monsters being aggressive is why is it so selective. An Obsidian Golem wondered into one of my towns after the ZOC expanded and it was a square or two from the new ZOC. However, a Verga planted a city one square away from a Shrill Lord and nothing happened. I started walking in that the direction and the monster approached me. It is like the city got the Shrill Lord as a free guardian. Seems the monsters have selective aggressiven

No, I am not a fan of multiplayer. Balancing the game becomes to much of an issue. One of the great things about MoM was how out of balance the game was. It was truly challenging, if not impossible, to play with some races, i.e. gnolls. They were just plain awful, which made it fun to try. Multiplayer games just continually balance, which I think takes some of the fun out of it.
In WOM, the dark green border would vanish when you conquered the territory, I couldn't get either to vanish
I had three wild lands in my last game. One was the Imperium Ruins, the other was the fire place (can't remember the name). Both of these places I went in an killed everything single thing but i was never able to create outposts in either one. Is this a bug or did I miss something. I searched both places high and low for another critter and never found one. I walked onto every spot and still nothing. The other wild land I was not familiar with.

I finished the game. I still agree with my original vote of good. I had a lot of fun. a couple things I would still like to see changed The first is the number of champions. I ended up with 13 champions on a medium map with 3 enemies. The new development journal is taking about increasing their power, if that is the case they really need to limit the number. 13 for a medium map seems to be a lot. The second, we touched on just a litt
My opinion is that champions and sovereigns should BECOME titans of power. But they should start out pretty ordinary.
I really like the idea of the Sovereigns becoming a titan. I am less on board with the champions becoming so. However, as I stated on the other thread, if they are going to become titans then there should be far less of them. Walking around with a stack of 10 heroes that are Titans, will deplete

@ the Stardock Team Good work on the Beta. I enjoy playing immensely.
I voted Good. I like the direction is going. However, reading through the forum, I either don't know how to play or I am doing something very wrong. I am usually at war with 3 other factions within 150 turns of the game. The way everyone is talking about just roaming around with your sovereign and one other hero is completely lost to me. I am usually being invaded by two or three armies at a time. I have gotten my Sovereign to the "steam roller"
