I agree that the champions in Fallen Enchantress are overpowered. I like the suggestion of imbuing by sacrficing a shard. I think that would be fun to play. Just having outposts have a construction time and have a gold and material costs would go a long way to fix pioneer spam.

DId the extra essence come in after the spell was cast. Perhaps the spell does not update as essence gets added during the game.
Merchant Bazaar is usually one of the first "one per game" buildings to be built. If you look around, someone probably built and you just missed the notification.
4 Essence, where did you find that. I have found a three and consider myself lucky
Sorry this is long, but it has been a blast. I started probably one of my best games last night. I typically do not use custom Sovereign's. However, I have tried to use Lady Irane the last couple times but have had quite a bit trouble. So I made a custom built based on her. She has the same magic disciplines, she is an adventurer, and is Brilliant. She is Lady Arina, Lady Irane's twin sister. The game is set up with five random sovereigns on a medium map on norma
I would like to see different types of horses. Perhaps they can come available after you upgrade to a ranch. Light and Heavy Warhorses.
I have had this happen to me. For me it was the fire place. Killed the Pyre of Man, and the wildland never cleared. I walked through the entire place almost square by square, but never found it.
I do think there needs to be a ammo cap for a battle on bow weapons. It would be even better if they could use a secondary weapon, but that weapon has to be a dagger or possibly a short sword.
I don't think pioneers should cost more money. I think Outposts should have a cost. They should cost materials and time. The fact that they are just instantly constructed is the part I don't like. If it actually took some resources to construct an outpost, they would not be spammed as much. Placement would become more important. Especially early in the game.
I assume you mean when you are down to just one opponent. Unless you set up all for opponents on the same team.
I've found that maintenance cost is another reason trained units are prohibitive. Perhaps if they cost a little bit less, we'd be more likely to generate large armies of trained troops.
This is also an awesome point. Trained units are expensive. They also stop your build q
@ Kinghobbit You do realise that units can be equipped with fire resistant gear right? You also realise there's spells like nature's cloak and protection from fire which are specific counters to fire magic strategies too? The tools are there but the problem is that the AI is only as good as it's programming and so it doesn't take advantage of these things. Over time Brad will programme in more advanced AI strategies and yo
Trained troops are just weak until very late in the game. Unfortunately by then the Champions can cast just devestating spells. Does any else think it is odd that a flame dart does 120 points of damage to and entire squad of people, and they all die. Shouldn't a "dart" just hit one person in the group. Fireball, okay, i get it. Its big and does area effect, but a dart. If you have two other champions slinging flame dart, fireballs, flame wave--t
I don't mind the bonus when idle buildings. I think it gives you alternative to just clicking away at the next the building.
This is all good stuff. But I would cut down on base heroes before introducing spawning ones. there are already too many of them.
I agree, there are already too many champions, and they are way to powerful. Adding more would only make it worse.
I agree that the Path of Governor is actually very useful. But it does need to be revamped. I always build the Adventurer's Guild. Although, I think it needs to be improved as well. I have had 3 champions city in the city and 1 gained a level in 100 turns. The guild is not doing their job very well. But it was late in the game, and I really didn't need the champions.
I had a problem with immortal champions because I would have to kill the same 5 AI champions over and over again. In the latest beta, I think they've put a lot less champions on the map. That solved my problem of having to kill too many AI champions over and over, but sadly, I don't have as many champions either. I think that was their way of solving the uber-champion vs. normal trained units problem = put less champions
Again, thanks for the info
I know I mentioned this earlier, but the problem is not trained units. The problem is champions. They are way to powerful compared to trained units. This was made even worse when they were given access to magic at the start of the game. The champions need nerfed. They also need to be able to be killed. Injuries are just not enough. I am fine with a Sovereign being super powerful and capable of defeating entire armies, especially when they get to upper
Thanks for the info.
Influence is a sort of resource which can be used in trade and for a few other reasons, but they aren't many. It pretty much represents your political clout. There are several ways to obtain it, although not all of them will be available at any time. Constructing non-city monuments (i.e. those resources you see on the map) nets you +1 Influence per turn. Completing a quest as Altar (or anyone w
What does Spell Mastery do? What is Influence, and how do you get more. I couldn't build the forge because I did not have enough influence.
Burning Hands and Flame Dart are probably the two most common I use. Like most Fire based magic in other games, it is the most direct damage options. Played as Magnar, by the end of the game Flame Dart was pretty much a one shot kill on anything. Granted I had 5 or 6 fire shards, and I was level 20 or something.
absolutely

Great start, how is the game going? UmbralAangel, how did you game go? P.S. I did not get the ads some are talking about.
