Right now we seem to be back to the ride of the magnificent seven--get a couple of heroes and just plow the opposition. On my latest game I only have 3 native cities. I captured 6 others and i am in endgame position already.
This I completely agree with. Champions are overpowered. There is almost no reason to even train troops right now. Get 4 or 5 champions, level them up, and just destroy them. In

I think these are great spells to have added. And isn't there a dispel in the game already? And the life spell i

Thats quite a list. I like Essence and I typically do not ctrl-n. What you get is what you get. I did try to play a game where I started with no fertile ground within walking distance. That game was pretty difficult. By the time I even got my first city settled On a medium map there usually about 20 or shards. By the time you reach Temples each one produces 3 mana. Plus all the over buildings and talents that produce mana, you can have a m

You could design any one fo those champions as a custom sovereign, just as they are and have a Sovereign. In some cases a better sovereign than the ones in the game. Death needs to be an option for a champion, and I also think the injuries should be added to the Sovereign. Also once you ge
It would be nice to cast a spell that increases the essence of a city by 1, at a maintanence cost of 5 mana per turn per (essence + 1). So a 2 essence city would have a maintanence cost of at 15 mana pre turn and a city with 0 essence will have a maintanence cost of 5 mana per turn. Of course, I highly doubt that they will implement any idea that will increase the the number of enchantments on a city past the given e

I disagree, unless the AI becomes really effecient with their mana use. By the time Champions have gotten to the mid teens in level, they are too powerful for even 4 or 5 trained troops. Between buffs, and attack spells the trained troops are already too injured to make the battle very serious.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you try the less than perfect starting spot. My only suggestion with eseence is let that be the number of maintanence free enchantments. You could cast additonal enchantments on cities that cost maintanence. But have it increase in cost. The first enchantment has a maintanence of 10 mana per turn. The second has 15 mana per turn and so on. [quote who="Gorshmak" reply="9" id="323079
The current system is definitely difficult enough to warrant improvement.
Oh, I completely agree. It actually takes very careful mouse movements to get it to work. I would like to be able to just open the queue and move them around full screen, or at list bigger screen.
- Build queue: If enough things are queued so that you have to scroll to the right to get to the end of the queue, it is not possible to grab something and scroll back to the beginning of the queue (at least I did not manage to do it). I could only change the order in one "scrolling segment" at once.
You can move queued items from one scroll to the next. It is rather difficult and if you have more than one scroll a l

I would also like to be able to see the strategic map. Some city locations are ideal to become a fort because they are the most likely cities to get attacked. I understand I can change the name to reflect what the option is but I just don't like that. I should be able to make the decision based on the information that I should have.

This was a blast from the past. I was totally lost until I checked the date of this post. The game has let all heroes cast magic without imbue for quite sometime. I would actually like to go back to the imbue model. All of the champions casting magic has made the champions too powerful. From the front page-- "Champions are similar to sovereigns in that they can have proficiency in th

For me, 6 and 7 are already house rules. I don't think it makes sense for archers to where plate mail. It isn't funtional in my mind. Somethimes I will let them get chain mail armor. Depends on the game. Archers are already so powerful, that leather armor nerfs them just a bit. And usually by late game I am doing pretty good on mana, so I have played a pure mage. Sometimes I will let them where leather but I usually stick to the robes w

You should not be paying heavy sums for the pioneer itself, but for the army it takes to make the land safe to settle on. The monsters need to kill lone pioneers and weak pioneer armies. Then teach the AI to require stronger expansion armies. Problem is then solved without an unnatural gamey solution.
I do agree this would help. But for me it makes no sense for a

I think Frog is already addressing one issue of the pioneer spam which is how ineffecient the AI is at placing outposts. The game I just finished the AI placed 3 outposts in a 2x2 square. That is just silly and a waste of resources. The game feels like the Oklahoma Sooner rush during the first phases of the game. It is just a land grab. Outposts are to easy to place. Make them have a build time and resource cost (time and material). P

I am not sure if these are actually bugs, but they sure make game play odd. I wrote a post about a game I was playing as a custom sovereign based on Lady Irane. I said she was her twin sister Lady Arina. I created medium map game on normal difficulty. I finally finished the game and met my twin sister. However, the random sovereigns that were selected was not Lady Irane, it was my custom sovereign Lady Arina running the Altar Faction. So instead of my twin,

They are overpowered because of the spell they cast as they run into battle. The Fighter-Mage is really a problem regardless of what "path" they are on. I am fine with the Sovereign being overpowered, they are suppose to be. But three champions can take over a level 5 city that even has extra troops. They are completely decked in armor, they have fantastic weapons, and they are also launching area effect spells. By the time they are even fighting the city defense
