Your mother wears traveler's boots!! Sorry, had to say it. But more seriously, only sovereigns from the race of 'Men' can wear them in the first place. If you mean a female from the race of 'Men' can't wear the anymore then that is indeed new. I haven't played since 1.09 (not 1.09e) so I don't know about now. Edit: They really need to do something about this. It's been the source of so much confusion and frustration, or at least document it in game "only

[quote who="Darvin3" reply="11" id="2805603"] The common belief is that we'll see a generic "Archer" class I'd agree, this is the most likely outcome. Each Diablo so far has had a dedicated archer class, and none of the classes that have been introduced so far really have any business using a bow as anything other than an auxiliary weapon. If I were to hazard a guess as to what the final class will be, I would suppose an Aragorn-inspired ranger tha

Until Champions don't NEED every single ring and amulet to not suck I am opposed to any further limitations on gear for champions. Otherwise the 2 ring thing has always bugged me. I have 10 fingers and can wear 10 rings easy. But if champions didn't need the gear to be good for anything except scouting I would encourage a limit to force choices about what 'type' of hero you want to make.

I loved Diablo 1 (me playing it online actually forced my ISP to upgrade their servers, yes small town). I really loved Diablo 2. Diablo 3 has yet to make me care even a little bit. To be fair part of my apathy is caused by "Hey we're making this game that will probably be released sometime before you die." Maybe I'm not following it closely enough (really not following it much) but it all just seems like 'Diablo 2.5: Easy Mode'. I really hope it's a good game.

I have to agree with Frogboy. People's expectations of games have changed drastically since the 80s and 90s. Back in the 80s one of the best games I ever played was Rogue. Today a pure remake of Rogue who be criticized (Read: rip to shreds by almost everyone) as a pathetic Diablo knock off. Or how about Super Pitfall, a remake of that would be ripped apart as a pathetic attempt at a platform game. Even the original Rampage would suffer horribly if someone tried a

So I ended up reading further anyway: + 03.01 Sovereign Creation + Ugly is currently broken, you still get 4 children. Hopefully this will be fixed soon though. Regarding equipment, if you have a sovereign who is from the race 'Men' curing creation is the only time you can get Longstrider Boots that I am aware of, they give +1 move and +0.25 action points and cost 10 points to take. Otherwise all other equipment is available later. + 03.04 C

@Gyb I looked it over and it looks great, a few things I noticed that were incorrect/in need of elaboration are: 02.01.02 Champions Janusk is not free, he's just really really cheap. Price is of course affected by charisma. I think at 10 charisma he costs 27 gilder. It's worth noting he's a +1 gilder champion generally so he pays for himself quickly, but even if he's a +1 tech instead you may not get the gilder back exactly but early tech research is great (and

Sadly they are my allies and in-laws, part of the dowry I guess. Makes the game extraordinarily tedious. Save 6 turns, buy champion a sword, save 6 turns, buy champio

It really depends what you enjoy about these games. I'm one of those who enjoy (enjoyed?) it. I got more hours out of this game than I have many other games so I feel it was worth it. Is the game great? Not yet. Will it be great? Quite possibly, it has the potential and Stardock has the talent and dedication. Currently I am not playing it anymore and probably won't until 1.1. The AI is just too easy and so there is no challenge for me and ther

Just wanted to say this looks incredible. I usually avoid mods until later in a games life cycle so I haven't tried any mods for elemental yet, but after looking at these screenshots this one has made my list of mods for the future. Keep up the good work and feel better soon (I did actually notice your absence in the forums).

I have to agree with everything said above. Having factions ask me to join in a war against X every few turns without any actual incentive included just bugs me. The worst is when either I am on good terms with faction X or the faction asking me to go to war is on good terms with X (these requests don't seem particularly related to relations between the requester and the proposed enemy). Or when the smallest and weakest AI asks me, one of the most powerful factions, to go to

My suggestion (and this may sound odd but I will explain) is a large map with all AIs on ridiculous difficulty. Ridiculous AIs get a lot of resources around their cities so you can take over a few of them. You want lots of AIs because then you can be on friendly terms with a few of them so the game won't end if one sovereign suicides itself on you, just don't alliances. Also if you can manage to be friendly with your bordering factions you don't have to worry much about atta

Gamefaqs is my go-to place for faqs/walkthroughs/etc... but like others have said the message boards are.... well... bad. I'll try to take a look at your faq some time soon (stupid university and midterms :( ). Edit: And glad to hear somebody is doing it. Faqs have helped me stick with a game I would've dropped otherwise. Maybe I'm old fashioned but something about an FAQ is just better than a wiki, especially for new players that don't really know what to search for

The answer to this really depends on several things: 1) Number of AI and the difficulty setting. Higher difficulty settings give the AI more resource nodes near their start location. 2) Which map. Some of the maps have more land mass that aren't mountains or forest. 3) Which half of the map. Related to 2) and also where AIs are spawned. Sometimes just about all the factions spawn on one half the map which means that half is resource heavy and th

Running slower the longer the game goes on is definitely normal. In fact I'm assuming you're not on a large map if you made it to 800 turns before out of memory errors made it unbearable. The siege thing I don't know, I've never used the siege function and was only vaguely aware it existed. I don't even know what it does or why you would use it.
