I did something similar by writing a game based on something I had fun with. It never got out of the freeware stage. Do a search on downloads.com for "Fangorodrim" and you can download it there. Its a single player game. Anyway, I was in love with IGW when Kabam killed it. But I was able to get my fix from a similar online game that is almost a complete clone of it (at least in concept and tactics): google "kixeye vega conflict" and you'll see what i mean. Good luck with y

I did some research on the Watson AI that competed in Jeopardy yesterday. The basis for that AI is called "Machine Learning". Instead of basing decisions on rules and calculations, the AI learns by example. By analyzing hundreds of examples in its database, the desired result can be compared with similar situations. "based on these historical conditions, there is an 80% chance the player will do such and such in his next turn" and the AI can take the appropriate action.

I am not saying the game is unfinished, neither do I wish to discuss such already beaten horse. My point is that a CEO should not release a fantasy 4X strategy game if the CEO himself (not me) considers such game does not yet meet the goal : "A game that fans of Master of Magic, Age of Wonders, HOMM, DOM3, and

Too bad YOU think that way I think they should all be RAZED as that is what I would do if I were being defeated by someone. I'd leave them NOTHING...NOTHING NOTHING I tell you. I'd burn every town every village and kill every villager and townsfolk. muahahahahahahah So, the game plays well and realis
The tactical combat is in the process of being redone completely. When I can grovel marketing approval, I'll start putting up screenshots. Basically, the "sides" don't take turns anymore. Instead, individuals take turns based on their combat speed and each "turn" they can either move, start an attack, start casting a spell or start performing a special ability. So there are no longer overall "turns" in tactical combat p
Wow, you too? Seriously guys it's, "land effects ", not "land affects ".
oops, I always mix that up.
YES, empire factions make the land look torn and burned. Kingdom factions make the land look green and alive.
What effect does this have on strategy?

I hope econundrum is right. A kingdom sovereign/unit should be penalized while walking in empire lands (and vice versa).

I have not yet played the game, but here are my basic assumptions of how good/evil correlates with essence & land affects: 1. Kingdoms impart good essence throughout the land making it look nice and wholesome. 2. Empires suck essence out of the land leaving it rank and desolate (e.g. Mordor). Is this basically how it works?
