Hmm ... having "bonus growth" and "bonus gold" as alternate build ques is certainly a good idea :) -> I can see how the 'growth' part might disrupt the pacing balance the devs have been working on (not to mention making +growth buildings obsolete) .. but at least the 'gold' part would be nice.

yes, currently it is not financially feasable to BOTH 1. recruit extra champions and 2. maintain an army for each champion (at the same time)

I just feel that weak things don't give enough exp ... le sad (might give back a bit of that 0.77 adrenaline as you describe. And yes, an unstoppable Steamrolling freighttrain of a merry band of heroes (for me usually 2 heroes + mobs) ... was certainly fun :3)

Probably. Or heck ... maybe have the trees stay there. Afterall, if a lumbermill is destroyed the trees don't go down with it ... (razing a lumbermill should re-add the tree, if nothing else)

I just don't see enough of these types of improvements in the early game ... which is where the largest problem of "running out of stuff to build" comes in ... where you either do absolutely nothing or unit spam. Back in 0.77 there was no reason to build such buildings, b

Cave Bears and Trolls will fall to my strat, but not this. part of my point though, is that when facing monsters of high power, wasting production on defense is worthless. Well, if you are blocked behind monsters that 1 hit your leather troops ... then either you are on a small map or GG man. (on a small map 1 city empires might still be competitive even after investing to destroy the monsters) Personally if I was in that situtation, I would build TONS of crappy troops and throw stacks of them at the enemy (and add a caster to the next stack once I have enough mana). Trust me ... those big guys? they tend to miss, a LOT. Even on m

Oh well ... always the equip screen. Speaking of UI bugs ... when selecting multiple units in a city, my mouse starts to get really shaky. Anyone else have this happen? Is there a way to just Ctrl+A or something to select them all without clicking individually?
The problem is, the game isnt really designed to be able to spam armies in the early game. Unit upkeep is prohibitively expensive when a single gildar either way can drive you into the red,
This I can certainly agree with. Taxes simply do not give enough gold to support your armies. Instead you are FORCED to sell off your quest items just so you can keep the economy running ... wait what? In the first few turns, runn

Well, with the Internet the way it is today, media has become a product that is infinite. Under normal terms of supply and demand, an infinite product has no value. Therefore in order to attribute value we have to rely on BS. The Piracy discussion is, among other things, an argument of how important the BS is to the moral (and economic) fabric of society.

Interesting that Markets are moved to a city-upgrade-option. At turn 40 I hadn't any size 2 cities so I didn't know. I suppose I don't mind this, but taxes need to be increased in effectiveness. I think current taxes should be doubled. (normal taxes being 6% instead of 3%, etc)

Good idea. I think total war does this too.

Removing the Market really hurts ... turn 40-ish, 5 cities. At oppressive taxes the only reason I have a net income on gold is because I have 1 gold mine. (granted, I was able to run the first 30 turns or so at no taxes) and don't think its due to ICS either ... capturing my 5th city actually INCREASED my income. I don't really mind the value of items. But I think either markets need to be re-added, o

But entertainment is a basic need! Many modern gamers are androids, whom instead of needing food to survive, need entertainment. ;)

@RogueCaptain For a long time I have thought of separating Melee and Ranged defense, but didn't say anything. If we did go that route, I could see at least certain melee weapons adding to melee defense (for instance, Daggers likely wouldn't add much defense)
