I don't know about tanks and plans, but perhaps long-range rifled guns and rifled cannons [e digicons][/e]

oh ... somehow I thought Beta 1-C was "next beta" that would be coming out before christmas. This is the time I thought people were first re-allowed to join beta. It seems that I have been horribly wrong for months [e digicons]X([/e]
Simultaneous Turns is superior. This can take many forms. If anyone has played multiplayer on Civ4 or its mods you know what Im talking about for the first form. That is, similar to normal turn based, only any player can take any action at any time. The other type of Simultaneous turn is less "at any time you please" but is instead solely for battles, where you both give orders (where you want your units to go, which units you want them to prefer attacking), and then see what happens for seve
oh, right erm .... when was it that pre-orders get the new beta? I thought it was the week after thanksgiving ... am I to hear that it is not till January? Rather, when does "beta entry" re-open, as opposed to Beta2. Or is entry only with the onset of beta-2? So the real question is ... can we join on Beta 1-C? :)
I suppose the real question is ... if your setting up such an obvious sneak attack, and the opponent knows about it, what options do they have? If your troops are already in their territory then its too late right? So what are they supposed to do, declare war upon you? I think there should be an option of "Eject Player X's troops from our borders" option. Is the only possible defense vs sneak attack, which is ALMOST like declaration of war = troops teleport out, although its up to the
I really like it. My favorites would be an Ice tribe, a Mountain Tribe, a Jungle Tribe, and a Desert Tribe.
It all depends on how "conflict" would occur as well. The point is to not allow total destruction of an opponent on a sneak attack. If you were able to completely disrupt your opponent's ability to wage war on a sneak attack, when you would not have been able to do so otherwise, it is an anarchistic system. Therefore I would suggest that troops garrisoned in Cities should also be unabled to be attacked (other than simply disallowing a "city capture" to also disable attacking a city at all, in
That being said, same farmer that cannot help with spells can help you figure out how to build that brand new Mage Tower, since construction/architecture is a more mundane task, in the sense that it does not require essence or knowlege of essence. If my theory is correct, the magical studies branch of the tech tree will not directly involve spell development, but will provide better materials for the sovereign to more efficiently create spells, and discover new ones.
I think its sometime next week! xD
Gives all new meaning to "blind charge"
I rather like the "teleportation out" .... because it grants those sneaky mechanics which allow you to stay within borders while attacking. Each game has different sneaky mechanics. Sometimes its just a One-time power of a certain faction, sometimes its with following a certain guild, sometimes its with following a certain religion/mafia type. For instance, the Svartalphar can cast "Veil of Knight" which allows an army within friendly borders to start attacking things. This wo
er ... figuring out which stacks will defeat other stacks (in fall from heaven) without a combat calculator is, well, FUN. I don't know wether its fun cause Im good at it or fun cause I just like to do it. (I still use combat calculator for skirmishes and assasins). So yea ... I suppose if you had 10 cities producing units, and you had a wide front with 5 armies, one army spaced every 10 squares or so ... then I could see you automating new recruits to join certain armies, and having an autom
I still like armies. The difference being gaining armies through quests/alliances rather than simply building them. Gives it a more RPG feel.
Oh ... well I like this sort of Idea. If only for areas where your victory is All but Assured :) So yea ... if your just going to steam-roll without much effort, its a really good system. I'd say it would reduce alot of the "boring" from end-game, and give a player who is Micro-Surviving a chance to .. well ... survive.
My favorite is the Beta Splash. Nice, simple, effective. Kinda reminds me of the Ocarina of Time opening for some reason.
I think we deserve to have a good RPG that is more along the lines of "build your army to fight against the big bad army" where you are actually able to tactically fight such decisive battles, rather than being forced to control only 4 people, and normally only take those spelunking missions. (I have no problem with Spelunking missions, it is where a few skilled men go where Nations know better than to invest time and manpower ... and either defeat the ancient creatures of legend agai
Hmm, I have a feeling that mentioning even game based politics and religion kills a thread faster than mentioning Nazis randomly. And no, Im not talking about this thread. This thread started with Nazis, so it already died a stillbirth. my two cents
yea ... I'd like for small towns to be able to be built on mountain trails/passes, and thich Ancient forests. Although possibly only with a rare-tech prereq.
How do you make a city larger? What I mean is ... if a city grows to size 2, will it gain an extra tile? Or do you decide its tile size before it even HAS a population?
perhaps they will make Fallen-Human interactions generic enough (mostly) to just be Bigger creature > Smaller creature interactions, and when "Fallen" and "Human" are mentioned, its a Variable word. "Greetings lowly (enter species here), do you delight in our destruction of your puny ideals? Kiss the royal finger." If not however, then yes, modders will need to do alot of work. It wont be so bad though ... I mean, you could just copy "Fallen" diplo text ... and then spend hours sco
Not sure if I like the Idea, but sure that I don't like 95% of possible implementations. Here is an implementation which is acceptable. This, to me, is the only true way to prevent spamming, and for it to be a true risk and investment to cast the spell (even if there are good chances of an easy win). Its favored gambling, but spamming will lead to losses. You can increase the % of penalties if you wish. The point im trying to make is that Failed spells should primarily harm the CASTER
Actually, I think Demagogue is a perfectly explained cause for "common crusades" ... aka those crusades taken by the peasantry. Of course, the church dictated an attack on such and such nation which was in charge of Jerusalem, but using Demagogues you can rally even more troops to call to your bidding. Although some might charge forth ahead of your call (like the first Peasant Crusade) and be slaughtered by a more organized enemy. However, gathering those peasants with the heraldry of the Dem
well ... of course I want things that interest the AI to be accepted by the AI. What I mean is that for particularly though things (like getting your son to marry their daughter, or allowing your workers to mine ore in their territory "a gift of raw resources", it might need some ass-kissing, or rather diplomatic and respectful language, and your options in speach are limited by your diplomacy value) Although, if someone needs a military alliance, it wont matter if your an ugly, hairy
yea, I would rather be able to, say, Research nearly everything in military without crossing over ... except for complex machinery like Crossbows, Warships, or Seige Engines. (or guns). Such things would be unlocked with the "Machinery" tech in Civilization (or a wench tech, a Dry-dock tech, and an advanced machinery tech respectively ... all unlocked by a basic machinery tech which allows for belly bows (the precursor to crossbows) and small military ships. Well, For those people tha
maybe the more airs you are willing to uphold (in order to appease your diplomatic guest) the higher the chance that your proposal will pass. of course, there are only so many airs that you can uphold before making a fopa, and this number increases with your diplomacy score. (so diplomacy score is not purely "I can talk better" but also has a mechanical factor as well)
