when will 1Z be released? I am looking forward to testing. In the end, what I want is a fun game. For me, tactical battles, and other things warfare related are authority prima, and around that, what I want is a fun game. I suppose this means that the things most important to me (as far as complex is cooler) is Magic, Warfare, and Adventuring. As long as the Diplomacy and Economy are fun, I think that is what matters. I suppose this works in the reverse too ... for other people wantin
[quote who="Tamren" reply="17" id="2579140"] Quoting Frogboy, reply 10For example, taking cities where the city has city walls requires siege equipment. A bunch of sword guys can't just conquer a city in that case. Oh I wouldn't say that. You can do some surprising things with a rope ladder and the cover of night. They could also dig a tunnel. Or swim up a river that bisects the city (and creates a gap in the wall). If they really really wanted to they could tunnel under the walls w

eh, "find a tutor" feature might be useful. I always thought thats what MP games were for though :p
Well, personally I only intended for Food to become a global resource ... but meh. I felt that global Net Food was a good way to personalize Food and make it its own unique mechanic.
will it be in by Thursday's Beta update?
The DRM is just insulting, is what it is. (with Ubisoft)
Hmm, if you raze a city ... do those people go back into the "wilderness pool"? Also makes the act of Exterminating a population, as opposed to merely razing a city, more evil and sinister as it reduces the overall population pool. (assuming we have an option to Capture, Enslave, Raze, or Raze/Exterminate)
Splendid. now onto materials ... if your making 20 iron per turn (12 from city A, 4 from city B and 4 from city C), and all three of your cities are building an Iron Plated Swordsman, will the Iron be divided up by each city? (will this take time? or somehow be an upfront cost??) Hmm, or instead does Swordsman 1 use his 15 Iron on turn 1 and Swordsman 2 uses 5 iron on turn 1, and Swordsman 2 uses 10 iron on turn 2 and Swordsman 3 uses 10 iron on turn 2, and then swords
I forsee (economic) modmods in the future :p but anyways, we've got this part down for now. Onwards to other, greater things! muahahahahaha I should have a signature that says "Will work for Tak battle" something like "you give me good tactical battles, I give you good testing" or something silly like that xD
any quotes from the original dawn of war ... minus quotes having to do with advanced weaponry. example: "A challenge worthy of my skill" -Imperial Guard techpriest
meh, thats more a city square thing and has nothing to do with the terrain's sustainability. Still, with everything being globalized now, its easy to guess that any land modifiers will be out ... although it would kind of be cool if your resources were more "useful" if used in a city that was located in really good land (like a river valley).
It will be interesting to see how non-food global resources will be handled. I was just assuming that Ore/metals, ect would be determining how long it takes to build things. Im guessing that certain buildings then will reduce the "timer" for units?? Since the accumulation of Material Wealth can't be a time determinator, then perhaps we will have buildings like a Forge or Factory that reduces completion timers by 1?? (like that great engineer dude). Anyways, im interested in wh
It really doesn't have to produce anything ... although it makes sense that it would produce "something" like at a foraging value level .. including gold and food as well.
Density is equal to Mass divided by Volume. Maybe if Density is lacking, choose a form of matter that is more condense? If you just want a higher concentration ... then just cram stuff into solution until you get it saturated, and then try rapidly changing the temperature (or just heat the solution to near boiling) to super saturate the solution. Either way, I hope your Chemistry woes get fixed soon! :) Well, or maybe your referring to "Meme Density" ...
Personally, I hope everyone is "immortal" in game terms, but ages somewhat normally ... with the Exception that they shouldnt show grey hairs till 70. That way, every turn can be a year ... go abstraction! Woot!! The main coolness of having, say 4 or 6 turns to make "a year" is that you could have Seasonal type things, like Winter Snows, and Pregger-Nancies. Of course, I would still like for babies to only take 20 turns to reach "adulthood" because getting your children up and running
You can only collect Metals/ Inorganic resources in Wasteland, and only at 50% efficiency because of the dangerous creatures living in the wasteland that harass your workers.
Personally I think the idea behind a Blunt Weapon is that you can crush them without having to pierce their armor. When your not dealing with an Edge or a Spike/tip ... your less likely to miss, its easier to use, and you just have to keep hitting them/denting their armor until their insides are pretty smashed up ... or give them a concussion to the head. Something simple like that. Hammers require alot of strength to wield properly, however, so usually Maces are the Easiest weapon to
Hmm, well I suppose you could do that, and you wouldn't need a button to switch between weapon sets ... however I prefer the flexibility of weapon sets (see Dragon Age). In a weapon set, its not always restricted to one Ranged Weapon and one melee weapon. Perhaps my Pikemen wish to carry Axes on their backs for when they meet armored Swordsmen instead of Mounted Knights.
What I meant by selective drafting would be sort of a military state, spartan society. I considered Selective Drafting to be the kind where the people do their best to prove their worth ... and the government selectively picks the best candidates for their new units. Its kind of Spartan, its kind of Nazi. Blanket Conscription is the kind where you pull a lottery of a bunch of hicks and hippies that don't want to fight. Selective Draft is not possible in Isolationist or Pacifist societ
maybe a little bit ... but less than 25% of the City's productiveness should come from the raw land its sitting on. Well, that gave me a slight idea. What if a City on a river gets a 50% bonus to all net food it uses?? So a river city using 4 net food actually gets 6 food. It might re-create some of the River-Valley scenarios people keep bringing up ... although im not sure that its necessary.
Ah ... Then I'd rather have it be a mana cost than an essence cost. And hopefully a small enough amount of mana that it takes less time to regenerate than it would to walk to the nearest city and back (at least as small as 50% the time for slow rechargers).
Well, I think such things should be revealed/unveiled as you discover Adventure technology.
