Those screenshots look amazing. Good stuff.

Great news...awaiting anxiously just like everyone else ;D
Yes.
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/08/10/medal-of-honors-taliban-multiplayer/ There is a lot of commotion about DICE's decision to allow players to play as the Taliban in the next installment of the MoH series. Getting things like 'kill streaks' and headshots on coalition soldiers would seem like a thorny issue indeed. Dan Whitehead from Eurogamer seems to take a particularl
Yep, interview is awesome. Buying an FPS is really more like buying the visuals and marketing than the actual content. Buying the marketing isn't always a bad thing ... it usually means a robust multi-player, yet just numbers + visuals (without the content) isn't for everyone, including those that prefer strategy games, tactics games (and even simulation games).
I wouldn't use such a broad stroke. After four weeks of work my Elemental trailer is finally done. I will be honest, I knew nothing about video editing when I first started this project however I learned a lot in the process. Unfortunately a lot of the footage that I originally planned to have in the trailer (massive armies and dragon battles) was impossible to film due to the memory leak not letting me get past a certain point in my games. I managed to get a few interesting pieces of gameplay footage nonetheles
I would be totally down for this.

Thanks for the update. I'm really looking forward to the game.
So you keep books that you own in the library?
No you don't "keep" them because you don't own them. When you buy Starcraft 2, you don't own it. Tridus' library analogy was appropriate.
I don't understand - why can't you use a regular optical mouse?
Blizzard can craft a great storyline, but being exposed to games like Company of Heroes and Sins of a Solar Empire I have no desire to regress back to managing peons/workers for resource gathering. I prefer COH model where you capture and protect strategic resources and focus on combat and strategy.
Ironically, I thought CoH and Sins did not move the genre forward at all - in fact, they took a few steps back
Nope - no alt tabbing happened and no dump file was generated.
Il y aura quatre betas - nous sommes sur le troisieme. Le quatrieme arrivera aujourd'hui ou demain. Comme Gorgon a dit, le jeu va sortir le 24 aout.
Was playing the usual Kingdoms game when all of a sudden my game crashes. I get an error message that pops up saying: "DX Error: Invalid call" No dump file. I believe the root of the problem can be found in the debug.err file since there is a line (887) that says: DebugMessage: Invalid call http://pastebin.ca/1908317
If it were up to me I'd release it in February too but Brad has stated many times that: 1) The game WILL be ready 2) If one is so concerned about the state of the game at release they can simply wait until February to buy it
It's not much consolation to the folks who are in that tiny fraction, but it's reality. There's something else to keep in mind. The players who are visible on forums are more likely to play multiplayer. They're participating in the community and making acquaintances with whom they can play. The invisible majority are the hundreds of thousands of customers who've never posted here, have neither the time nor
How is it disappointing that a Diplomatic feature would not be functional in a TBS with multiplayer? Half the functions in the tree (treaties, agreements and various other things) are mostly non-functional or rather can be established by simple communication like say: Hey don't kill me first, let's kill him.
It is by no means written in stone that all TBS games have singleplayer elements that bec
Quoting Sarudak, reply 1Sure it seems great for the AI... But you still need to give it some real concrete value for human v human games. If it's just 1 on 1 in human games then it won't do anything. But I won't lose sleep over that.
That is actually extremely disappointing. I accept (reluctantly) that you want Elemental to skew towards the singleplayer side at the expense of multiplayer
Thanks for the update. How close up to the release date will you be working on Elemental? What I mean is, what is the cutoff date for the version of the game that is going to be downloaded on the 24th? I assume after this date you will be working on the first patch?
The dump files are located in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic ProgramData is a hidden file - make sure you can view hidden files (the setting is in Folder Options). Print Screen hotkey is the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. Screenshots are located in My Documets/My Games/Elemental/ScreenShots
I have an Intel-X25M 80 GB SSD and (unfortunately) don't see any difference in loading times.
Having more video memory allows you to play at higher resolutions. If you play at 1680x1050 or 1920x1080 you can get away with 1 GB of video memory - having 2 GB will do nothing for you in this case. However, anything higher than 1920x1080 will require 2 GB of video memory to play properly. Your second question is specific to Elemental and will depend on whether it was coded for multiple cores/threads.
