After updating the game slows down to maybe 2 fps for me. dxdiag For some reason the degug.err won't upload to pastebin.
Not a bug. You have to double-click the ring to equip it for the max hp of the unit to increase.
INdeed. You should see an 'E' instead of a 1 in the picture of the ring. That must be embarassing posting this as a bug. :P
So now that we get a very, very basic idea of what this game will be like I find some things annoy me pretty much all the time. The major one is that the buttons for building in cities are not placed in a logical way. I generally have a city centered in my screen when I click it. Now if I want to build something or train a unit or build a road, I need to click a tiny tiny button at the bottom of the screen. It would be more convenient imo if there could some interface pop up next to t
So in this new game I started there were several 'treasures' on the map that were guarded by monsters. On each and every time I got the treasure upon entering the tile and then I got the combat box. I could therefore move out of combat while taking the treasure with me. I think I should not ever get the treasure unless I defeat the guardian. Maybe this is a bug, I do not know, but since it happens every time with me I suppose it is not.
I am fine with either cancel or train, but I agree that if the button is named 'cancel' then it should indeed cancel something, so maybe exit or something would be better. Finished would be fine although that seems odd to place on a button.
As long as this will be minor things I would be fine with that. What I do not like is if your sovereign can become some diablo character which should be optimised in order to be powerful. Allowing him -1 mana cost when casting from a certain school of magic or maybe 5 extra HP would be fine I think...
Gold is substracted on completion afaik.
Remember folks, pictures help a lot. It's just a printscreen button and imageshack or Jing away...
yup sry about that but imageshack won't upload my pictures for some reason...
Debug Message: Map Random Seed: 1253666953 No pictures I'm afraid since I cannot get my usual hoster to work and my firefox is a bit dodgy lately. Three issues in this seed: Curious starting location right next to another sovereign, a third sovereign is located maybe 15 tiles to my south, and there is at least one river running through a lake.
I cannot click any of the options. SD will probably not use it anyway since these tend to give a very iffy impression at best. It is a good attempt though.
Wolves are very private creatures. Except when they work in porn.
... I'd say swing and miss.
I agree the Civ IV vision is flawed. Civ IV has a good mix and should be regarded as a good example on how things should work. There is a good mix of units and counter-units so that you will not want to focus on one unit exclusively.
Also if it is equipped it should show an E letter.
Rings do show an E when equipped... ;)
What is wrong with that exactly? that the text is not in the centre of the buttons?
INdeed, the skinning is not done yet...
You lose your screen resolution when rebooting? SO what is stopping you from setting it back manually? :/ If it occurs consistently you can browse the nvidia boards to see if there is a solution. Very often there is a solution. The latest drivers will still be an asset because the game will be written for those drivers rather than the 2006 drivers so if you encounter an issue in Elemental you will be asked to update drivers anyway.
What exactly is a debug? How do I generate a debug report and in what situations should I make one?
So after I had conquered two cities and settled 3 more, I got a random CTD that did not seem to be related to any event in game. That is, I was not expecting anything to happen that turn yet the game suddenly crashed. See this link for my dxdiag. http://pastebin.com/m6bce43ad
It happens in game and when saving agame as wel...
SO I started a game where I got that mlee sovereign, I think it was the race with the bonus to research. I raced all over the map trying to find those spellcasting wussies, and I found them aimlessly wandering about, apparently not minding that I walked near them at one level higher than them, and being able to beat the bejeesus out of them. So naturally I did just that. I beat up all enemy sovereign, yet the game will not end. I tried to wander trying to find remaining cities but the
So I load up a game and I start a city on the first turn. Seeing as how Scoutdog mentioned you can get a city by not spending essence I checked that. That did not work. So then I do spend essense on a city. So now I have a city, diogonally next to a green 'flower' tile. I cannot build any upgrade, that is when I select upgrades every single tile around the city is red despite there being 8 tiles available. So I press the next turn button and suddenly the land that I could see
I would like to add: 9.) Cycling through units shoud be done automatically, maybe unless you decide against it in the menu. Right now it is very easy to forget that you have that scout on the other side of the continent. 10.) Give players a warning when you meet another nation. Right now your auto-exploring scouts may find another nation yet it goes unnoticed unless you pay very close attention.
After a reload there seems to be no land left. I can still click on my capital - but I can only find it by selecting my sovereign - yet I cannot seem to do anything any more. To reproduce this bug, try to start multiple cities - I had three - and then save and reload. Here is a screenie of the risen sea where once luch lands used to be. nMy appologies for not using the suggested program, I will look into that soon. <img src="http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/9609/searis
As the title says, scouts should be able to pick up treasure when auto-exploring. If they do not they will leave whatever there is to be found for the opposition. I suggest making it so that the scouts pick up treasure on the map when auto-exploring so that the AI cannot take it.
I had the exact same thing. I wanted to make a bug report from a channeler starting on an isolated island with the graphics looking like the island was not supposed to be as clear cut-off as it was. Anyway, my dxdiag: ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 9/18/2009, 00:27:53 Machine name: GEBRUIKE-CI4U65 Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5
