uhuh, and others with me.

Elmo3, I am pretty sure this falls under the 'perform action Z' kind of quest. I do not think it was mentioned so there you go. :)
Let's just hope that the tactical battles do not make the game easier in the sense that you need to actually battle them yourself in order to win. A game that does this is the Total War series. In those games you can auto-resolve every battle as well. When you do this however you get some really dodgy results. therefore you should just fight the battle yourself. If you do so, the Ai employs such bad tactics that you can win the battle by just keeping in formation. It has very little t
Well at first there seemed to be updates every so often but now everything seems to be silent... I was just wondering what else we would get besides added content. It is no good if the game crashes. ;)
Will it have bugfixes and such as well? At the present I cannot play elemental for more than a minute or so before my machine freezes - that is, I cannot play it.
Of course you should be able to summon mighty demons and such by the time the game draws to an end and you have focussed and worked towards that very goal for the entire game. By the time that will be possible you should have to summon those beasts because the other players will be very close to winning by other means such as the 'spell of creation' or the Elemental equivalent of it, or by whatever means will be available. I find it hard to see the fun if those spells will be availabl

Be afraid of the kitty... Be very afraid!
Awesome! How about this though: the sovereign can either wander about - or 'go Gandalf' - and do quests and such, or he can lock himself away in his tower like in MoM and research spells himself. It would be cool if there was a way to soft-force the sovereign back to the capitol because he needs to be there to be infused with new spells or something. It makes more sense than him wandering about and suddenly he learns new spells because the academies far, far away gathered enough point
Some people - I am not mentioning any names - have clearly checked out mentally. :P
Quoting BoogieBac, reply 57 I like that it's not overly complex....It's important to note that complex does not mean strategic. Look at simple games like Chess or Go That's pretty much our feeling on the matter. Intertwining simple systems in interesting ways will be more managable (from both our end and the player's end) than complex systems intertwining. Modders should be able to go nuts adding complex syste

Do not forget that we need to be able to understand game mechanics - that is, the interface should be clear to us. We ned to be able to learn how the system works in order to be able to plan ahead. This means that looking at the details of a town should give us enough info to learn exactly how long it will take for that town to grow, how many units that town can train and how fast, how much gold the town generates, etc. Once we understand these mechanics, it will be possible f
I spilled my coffee laughing. :D Mice are nasty little creatures who can escape from pretty much anything. They can actually deform their bodies to fit through pretty much any crack because they look large but they can become very long and slim if they need to get through a tiny little hole to escape. I know because I let the pet mouse of a friend escape once when looking after it for the summer... Anyway, this thread made my day.

I am asking because on Warcraft3 it was commonpractice for a host to kick joiners who did not have their version of
Yeah... I actually understood very little of this and I see not how this is significant. Good to see however that you guys are trying to make this game the best it can possibly be. :) Btw Brad, there is this thing going on called 'Powerpoint' and it is really a solid tool for presentations. You should give it a go. ;)
What I hate about these games with supposedly good stories - like DragonAge:Origins - is that the decisions you make influence a tiny sphere around you, and that other missions or instances hold no relation to that whatsoever. The only thing that carries over might be that some character eyes you funny, but that would be it. The story does not change dramatically based on my actions. That's not always true. In The Witcher for isntance
Agreed, but is that really a reason not to have higher hopes for Elemental's campaign? It would need to be a remarkable improvement over GC2 to make me play it through even once, but I still kinda hope it happens. The 'much fun' trick might really depend most on how the code development and story development processes interact, and so far I've not seen a hint of public discussion about that.
To me, it very much is a reason to not pl
I believe that the best way to maintain cohesion in Elemental is to focus all quests on the player's relationships with the other players and/or the overarching "cataclysm story." Either the quests should be focused directly on rival factions, or the quests should be significant enough that multiple players will be involved in the same quest, either competing for a goal or working together to resolve a problem. &nbs
Same here. Posted it to the appropriate site. A shame really because as Kuloth mentioned, there are supposedly cool new things added to the game. It was very much a smooth game before, now it is choppy after the first few seconds until my machine freezes.
Oooh, this coming across hints of quests is actually quite a cool idea. It would be cool if you could just read some description of a ruin without getting the feeling that this actually is a quest. Then later, as you find another pieve of the puzzle, you start scratching your head as somethings sounds quite familiar... Then you as the player will need to puzzle the pieces together, find missing clues and eventually be rewarded for your curiosity. Of course not every quest should be a

Then again I think Martimus is really on to something here. Building units that get the 'patrol' order seems like a cool idea. This way your caravans will be less profitable - because you will need to pay more people to operate it - but it would be safer from harm. It could be a real nice feature and maybe it will be worth checking out.
Quick question... I see people posting 0.255 bugs. How come I have 0.25 then? Edit: I checked for updates 10 times and nothing, I posted this question and update 0.255 pops up. Typical. ;)
Ah thnx. It is odd however that this needs to be done in order to make the game run, since I had no trouble in the first builds, and because my video card is a good one.
