Happened to me again. debug.err is here. dxdiag is here.
Publius of NV
I zoomed in to look at a town, heard the sound effects for a farm, then zoomed back out again. The sound cut off, then a few seconds after that the game crashed. debug.err is here. dxdiag is here. memory dump is here.
The tooltip popup that come up when you put your mouse over the gold indicator at the bottom of the screen seems to be an unsigned integer when it should be signed. If my income goes negative (shown in the kingdom report as -2 gold per turn), the tooltip shows it as 4 billion per turn. Screenshot here.
Mining is fixed in .291.
I think I just hit this too. I had just switched to start researching warfare, and then set a destination for my sovereign, hit the space bar, and the game froze. The CPU monitor widgit I have on my desktop says that Elemental is using nearly 100% of both CPUs, and task manager says that Elemental is not responding. Cancelled via task manager, debug.err is here.
The tooltip that pops up when I hover the mouse over a city says that the population is 107 out of a max of 80. But the city details window says that it's 80 out of a max of 80. Screenshot is here.
Can't get the screenshot imbedded in the post. Maybe it's because the forums are so slow tonight. Anyway, you should be able to find it here.
Started my second game, but the map came up with no shards, no ore, etc. I moved the mouse cursor around and found that the tooltip popup in the lower right corner was showing that objects were there: This didn't happen on my first game last night. dxdiag is here Update: Got an error on posting, and my screenshot has been thrown away.
After playing for quite a while, I got the Microsoft C++ error window and the game crashed. debug.err is here.
The site to submit crash reports wants me to login. It didn't use to do that.
Same here. Do we need to create a fogbugz id?
Some folks have reported that the game runs for them if they turn antialiasing off. Have you tried that?
That's happened to me several times also. In each case I got a polite greeting from the Kraxians, and then a couple of turns later one of their units sneaked into my undefended city and took it.
On attacking a spider, I got a Microsoft C++ runtime error message box, followed by the "Turn based fantasy strategy game has encountered a problem" message. No dump was produced, but I sent the dxdiag and debug.err to fogbugz.
I hit the space bar to move to the next turn, and got a crash. Another kingdom was about to attack one of my towns, but I'm not sure that's relevant to the crash. Files sent to fogbugz.
This crash is still happening on .264.
Never mind. After uninstalling, manually cleaning up the files in the Elemental directory, and reinstalling, new units have a movement value of 1 as expected.
I upgraded .262 to .264. When I trained a unit it had a movement value of 0, and after exiting the village it wouldn't move. I'm going to try uninstalling completely and reinstalling .264 to see if the behavior changes.
I might have hit the same crash. I fought and won a battle with an ogre, and when I clicked on the done button on the victory window, I got the crash. dxdiag, debug.err, and dump sent to fogbugz.
On move 78, I assigned 3 towns to build a unit and then hit next turn. The game crashed. dxdiag, debug.txt, and dump sent to fogbugz. I apologize if it shows up in fogbugz more than once, but I got an error from fogbugz the first time I tried to submit.
Playing my first [.262] game today, I hit an out of memory also.
I can confirm this, this screen shot shows a lumber yard under construction with no forest:
You're right, I haven't seen anything like that before either [e digicons]:S[/e] . Nice catch!
Here's yet another peninsula blocked off by mountains. Debug Message: Map Random Seed: 1257481873
The administrative expensives seem to rise just as fast as your income, so there doesn't appear to be any way to actually make enough money to pay for troops.
Of course I don't know how many troops you're building, but I've had some success in keeping my income positive. I think what's been doing it is building lots of huts/hovels/houses etc to get the population up as fast as possible, as well as not trying to build too many towns too soon.
This is still happening on .255.
