I'm not sure whether this is new behavior on .255, since I've never tried this before. (1) I designed a soldier with a short sword, built 4 of them, put them in an army, and attacked a troll. The result was victory, with the troll and one of my soldiers killed. Afterwards I had 3 soldiers on the same square, not in an army. I had to move them into another square to form them into an army again. (2) Using the same type of soldiers as above, I put 2 of them in an arm

I've seen this also. I think I got around it by right clicking on the map, and then left clicking and dragging.
This post might help, if you haven't already read it.
This didn't happen with apiaries in build .25.
After hitting the graphics bug I reported a few minutes ago (apiary appears as black square) I found I was unable to select my sovereign. I hit enter to move to the next turn, and the game crashed. debug.err, dxdiag, and dump sent to fogbugz.
When placing an apiary in my town, it appeared as a completely black square. Zooming way in I could see the the image of the beehive as the screen shot below. debug.err is here. dxdiag is here.
I've seen the text corruption that you report in your #2, but on the info card for my sovereign.
On turn 315 (wow, I don't think I've ever made it that far before), I was attempting to select a troop in a town display to move it out of the town. I clicked on the troop, then right clicked on the square where I wanted it to go. The game froze for a few seconds, then the screen went gray except for the outline of my area of influence and the outline of the coastline. Sorry, I couldn't get a screen shot because the Windows "Turn based fantasy strategy game has stopped worki
Did you submit your crash report to the bug tracking system as described in this thread? Please see the 5th paragraph under the heading "What kind of detail should you give" in that post. In addtion to your debug.err, the developers would like to see the memory dump produced by the crash.
(being able to save games would be really nice to revisit/recreate these!)
Agreed!
Two opponents isolated on an island. Elsewhere on the same map there's a peninsula with one player on it that looks like it's walled off by mountains. Debug Message: Map Random Seed: 1256688654
Question for the developers - I'm seeing more and more maps with islands, some where my sovereign is alone on an island, some where one or more opponents are isolated on an island. Do you still want those reported here? With the introduction of naval techs in 0.25 (although not yet useful) I'm wondering if the islands are deliberate.
This map was an N shaped continent, with a mountain range in the lower crook of the N that blocked access from one side to the other. Debug Message: Map Random Seed: 1256688015
Sometimes when I've set a destination for my sovereign that will take several moves, and I'm just hitting enter for next turn and watching him move, he won't move. Then on the next turn he'll move two squares. I can never tell when it's going to happen, but it's usually when a popup message has appeared about the completion of an improvement in one of my towns. I've seen it at least a dozen times now. I don't recall seeing it on earlier betas.

In another thread a couple of people have reported that turning off AA (anti-aliasing) in the game video options has speeded up the game performance. You might want to try that.
I just double checked - my virtual memory paging file size is set as minimum 3G and maximum 12G, but when the out of memory error occurs the page file size is still at 3G.
I hit this again after playing for something more than 160 moves.
Yes, it seems like you have to build 2 or 3 hovels or else the town will never get to the next level.
Is this the same bug reported in this thread? It reports a CTD on trying to research any tech without any intermediate miestones.
After playing for quite a long time, longer than I've been able to play on .25 before, I saw a pop-up window saying "Out of memory" and the game crashed with the Windows "Turn based fantasy strategy game has stopped working" message. A dump file was created but was 0 bytes long. I have 4G memory on my machine and an over 3G virtual memory page file. Debug.err is here. Dxdiag is h
I ran into this also. In my case I had built up 3 towns and had a barely positive treasury, and then I ordered 2 towns to build roads. My treasury immediately dropped about 600, making the total large and negative.
While chasing a spider (i.e. I didn't deliberately try to move here), my sovereign managed to walk into the ocean: Debug Message: Map Random Seed: 1256430302
