Is it so difficult to come up with your own names?
I liked it. Looking forward to the downloadable book characters once they're released.
IMO, Tech trading ruined Gal Civ 2 and I'm glad its not in Elemental.
Ravenloft ftw! Excellent work!
I enjoyed it, its not amazing - but its not half as bad as what has been claimed and I'll probably pick up the sequel when/if its released.
"Get rid of the whole concept of parties, squads etc and just allow simple abstraction like other tile-based TBS games." Please don't.

They could have held off on release and worked on it for several more months. Then when balancing, bug and polish issues were resolved they could have released through Impulse and other digital download sites. Then released to retail stores in February. Maybe not as much profit but according t

I would not hold your breath though on any company, even a smaller one like Stardock, allowing you to make money off of their product. There are enough people willing to give the game additional features and life for free as a hobby. This actually happened to a couple of the top mod

I'm shamelessly reprinting a post from another forum, because I totally agree with it. He also put it better than I could.
I agree with the "heir taking over" idea, I remember one of the random events in GavCiv 2 was the leader of a civ being assassinated on one of my worlds, and that for me really was like "Whoa holy crap" awesome.
Heh, agreed. Before Elemental came out, I was playing Gal Civ 2 and saw the assasination event for the first time (and it was one of my allies that got assasinated) and was caught completely off guard. I hope they add so

I'm happy i gave him my 49$ for safekeeping while i wait for a complete game. Had i kept them i probably would have wasted the sum somewhere..
It was said before release that the AI, and the game would see continual patches for a good while. But it thats not
On XP, go to My Documents/My Games/Elemental/Race amd then just delete the relevant faction. Not sure about the other OS's, but I'd imagine they'd be in a similar place.
Agreed. I generally suck at 4x games - yet I was able to defeat -two- massive empires that I had been sandwiched inebetween (and with very little rescources) just because the enemy sov's wandered into my territory while we were at war. I also hate the way the cities just instantly vanish - personally I'd rather seen a succesion system or some improved Sov AI with the sov-less cities turning into a minor nation rather than just dissapearing.
100% agree with the TC. Also, a succesion system would be cool because I'm getting fed up of whole Kingdom's dissapearing when the AI's Sov's do something silly such as enter my territory to attack my caravans with absolutely -no- support. It was a rather anti-climatic end to an epic game I was having.
The AI Sov's need to stop charging into my territory (sometimes undefended) while at war, it makes the game far too easy - that or they need to remove the whole empire-death-on-sov-death system.
That's really cool.
Yes please. I'm getting fed up of having my Caravans destroyed by Spiders... I will admit its pretty cool having bandits and monsters attack them though, even if it is annoying.
I kinda agree, but I think a quick fix would be to have your default troops train as a squad of 4 and then add higher amounts from there, rather than being stuck training 1 soldier at a time.
I am very, very worried about how the game will be received at day 0. I personally won't have any trouble waiting multiple months for the game to evolve into what it should be. The problem is that if the game feels as a work-in-progress title for consumers and gets bashed in reviews, it might end up in poor sales and hurt the modding community a lot. Also if the game isn't received well, I'm afraid that it would hurt the morale of the

It was supposed to be a huge massive living evolving galaxy 4x evolution game. Then the reviews came, and handed it GOTY awards, 9.8 scores, praising it as the coming of christ and all our prayers answered. It fucking sucked. Bribed reviews are an infestation and part of the reason why I dont pay any attent
