Can anyone help?

Am I missing something? I can't seem to set the game to run at a specific resolution, say 1280x960, in a window. I swear I could do so in the Beta.
Is it worth the $50? Or should I wait 'til it drops into the $20 range.
Depends on how much you like action rpg's. I've played it for more than 30 hours now though (and only just now on 7-1,) and feel like I've got more than my money's worth.
EA is also known for lying about game DRM, has rather poor customer support and as has been stated previously none of there games have any depth also they are running a monoply by buying out companies, EA really tis just a publisher with many subdivisions, most of these subdivisions previously independent companies that were boughout and slow
I'm not surprised it got a mixed reception - it is an Action RPG, they don't tend to do well critically. Personally though, I was surprised with the Beta. After Spore I expected to hate it, but the game is pretty danm good. Hopefully we'll see some decent expansions.
I love Game Dev Story, and there is some sort of space-themed game loosely inspired by it and X-com coming this summer called Star Command. http://www.starcommandgame.com/post/4097716210/what-is-star-command
I don't think 1.2 is far off now though.
True. It's more of a "Don't touch this Tages laden POS with a ten foot pole BECAUSE of the Tages.", not a "Stardock is so retarded" kinda thing.
XIII is awesome.

Shouldn't Plate Armour be strong against Swords and weak against Blunt weapons?
I hated Crysis 1, and I despise the COD series - I take it I won't like this one either?
I actually quite like it, but yeah, it would be better if they made full use of the editors from Spore so that you could create custom heroes and share them. I expect that'll come in the inevitable expansion. Until then, they'll most likely charge for new creatures and parts as ZehDon says. Shame really, since its pretty good and has a lot of potential.
Whilst I'm still disappointed that still seem to consist of just a handful of soldiers (at least at this point...) the design of those monsters, especially the elemental lord or whatever it is called is absolutely awesome!
Probably not exactly what you are looking for, but Evil Genius is somewhat similiar to Dungeon Keeper.
AT RELEASE: E: War of Magic: C- (I was disappointed, but enjoyed my first few games.) Civilization V: C- (Same as above.) Fallout: New Vegas: A (Loved it.) END OF 2010: E: War of Magic: C (Much better performance, but still a bit...dull.) Civilization V:<span style

Heh, Destructoid have posted a massive rant against pirates on their site, fuelled mainly by the way they try to justify their actions: http://www.destructoid.com/and-you-wonder-why-developers-hate-pc-gamers--193957.phtml
Play them in order. So play Mass Effect 1 first; the story is worth it.

During the day when people are awake and it is bright outside, the game should appear brighter and light should be whiter. After sunset the in game lighting should change to use more warmer colors (like the soft warm light from an incandescent lamp). Dynamically changing the light will provid
Thanks, Brad. One thing that might help improve the look of cities in EWOM is to randomize or give control to the players of which directions buildings face. I give credit to Heavenfall for the original idea as I remember the post somewhere.
You can already change the direction in which buildings face: you have to press shift + Mouse wheel up/down whilst placing a building.

If you don't like it, then don't take part. Before you 'lol' too hard over this -- you're missing the point. I (among others) want to take part, but not all of us are lucky enough to have constant access to an internet connection.
<p

That screen was taken when the game still had a continuous turn system. Or it may just be a mock-up of such a system. It is rather misleading, considering how epic that screen looks in comparison to the current tactical battle system which is anything but epic. That said, not really a big deal.
I don't understand why it has to be either/or in regard to random global events and quests. Why can't a random global event be the beginning of a quest? Why can't failing a quest bring about a negative consequence that effects the whole world? Personally, I really enjoy random events in 4x games - they get quite stale without them and in WoM Quests don't quite take their place (in fact, the quests in WoM are just utterly tedious.) however the quests listed in the OP do sound extremely&nb
