I think it's intended. Makes perfect sense to me - if you didn't get morphine during knee surgery, you'd make much worse noises. But you'd get healed - medicine can hurt, brah. Likewise, getting the ability to magically march without fatigue probably isn't comfortable.
The slow animation issue was present in .85, too. Agreed that bows seem underpowered. With their slow initiative and the general bent toward units defending more often now, the regular bowman unit isn't a huge benefit.
Can't agree. Bows for non-assassin champions may be nigh useless, sure. And I could even agree that bows got less useful in LH. But they still do plenty of damage, if you hit non-defendin
Regarding skeletons: if you get the event early in game that spawns skeletons in your kingdom / empire, my spearmen deal 1-3x3 damage to skeletons, while milita with clubs does full damage (not bash, their normal attack).
Your spearmen are likely attacking while the skeletons are in defensive stance. The militia have probably struck after skeletons have left defensive stance, and have lower defense.&nbsp

Really, who needs to deal with jerks like this? There's plenty of people who can point out bugs, like me, and with me the only price is putting up with goofy jokes! We don't need this righteous victim to bring us all down. Plenty of people like him will suck you dry if you let it happen. And for him, there are other games out there if this one is such an offense. All right, fair enough, for some my jokes are probably painful.

Was watching Mancers Ridiculous Let's Play, and he used the Impale ability from the spear on an empty tile to REACH the unit a tile farther. 20:36 on the second vid. Impale should require the first tile to be filled with a unit.
That's the only use that makes logical sense to me- spears have long reach, right? That said, don't think th

Maybe it happened earlier than v .80, but in tactical battles, I CAN'T SEE as well as I used to. I have a hard time telling where my units can move to - the highlighted tiles used to be easy to see, now they have changed appearance and blend in with the terrain easily. For awhile it has annoyed me. Now, I just lost a a fight because I can't see the movement radius of enemy troops anymore (and thus know when they will reach melee range). I find myself turning on the grid

Spears are the best weapon, period. But axes and maces definitely have use now. I don't think impale should go. Right now, the biggest problem with spears, to me, is that you get the boar spear at blacksmithing, before battle axes and maces. Boar spears are so good, why spend the time on an extra tech when spears will do well against everything? If Battle axes and maces came with blacksmithing (or if boar spears came later), I might choose axes/maces over boar spears

Plenty of positives overshadow these negatives. Why so frustrated?

The Mancers are really, really good now. Capitar is suited to build up a strong economy early, and crank out an army. Then their mobility in moving troops is unmatched. Make enough roads and you can out maneuver Tarth. None of the factions suck, in my opinion. If you really understand their strengths and play them well, they can win. Though as of .87, I bet the wraiths really miss their dodge bonus from wargs.

Come on guys, there's a reason D&D didn't let mages wear armor. Gameplay decisions. If you add more initiative penalties to armor, it's not worth wearing! If you want armor, then go warrior or defender and still pick spell traits to cast some spells. Choose Warlock, pick up ring of ash/staff of souls/cloak of stars, you'll barely notice you're not a mage path.

Giving catapults the ability to fire in strategic view would, alone make them very, very useful. In fact, giving them this ability (like a 0 mana spell) but leaving them helpless in combat could be very interesting.
