FE had this? I think you mean Elemental. But I want it too! Pretty please, Derek!

Bring 4 companies of ice mages brimming to the hilt with ice damage, and max out their initiative and spell resistance (if you've gotten them up a few levels to have good HP, all the better). Use heroes to slow waelorga and haste the mages. Occupy him anyway you can. The ice mages will kill him for sure if given 2-3 shots each. Melee units are nearly useless against him, but might get his attention away from casting despair. In my experience, he likes to attack adjacent
So you are saying, it isn't overpowered if you choose not to use it(fyi, 1 dragon is enough to win the game)?
No. I am not saying that at all. You are using a straw man. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man I am saying that the only reason you are winning with dragons is because you are outplaying the AI opponents. <
Any chance the special effects of summons can be put in their trait description in the mage tree? How are new players supposed to know that a grave warden gives deathward? That crag spawn cause stinking mud? I don't think lightbringers says that they blind enemies either. Wisps seem to be the only summon that have a description of their special tactical effect.
Dark wizards are still there, I've seen them. But I have never seen more than 1 in a game, they seems rarer than in FE.
Giving the option to "mount-ify" any tamed beast would be very cool. Or maybe have another magic item - "magic bridle" - that converts any eligible beast into a mount. Because then you could get an ASHWAKE DRAGON mount.
I can't believe this thread is still going. SevenAus, you AGREED with his suggestions? Are you all paying attention? The original poster is playing on challenging/normal. He clearly has played the game a few times. He likely is playing a huge map, with resources set to dense. I know this because dragon caves are not common, and always guarded by - you know, DRAGONS. He is exploiting the system and farming dragons. Then, he complains that dragons are
Post your save game for the devs.
Stardock, please do not nerf dragons, they are good as they are.
He has low attack right? Could he be flagged as 'ranged?"
If you think dragons are too powerful, I think the real problem is that you need to play on a higher difficulty level. If you get dance with dragons before armor, you either need that dragon desperately to save your ass from the AI hordes invading you, or the AI just isn't a threat to you in general.
Oh, and dirge of ceresa and graveseal are two of the best spells in the game.
Cyndrum demons are pretty amazing for free troops. Get them up to a group of five, and you can do a lot of damage...for 0 wage. Crow demons can scout out the whole map for you, and are excellent for harrassment tactics r taking distant outposts. Grave elementals are good damage sinks. Have your champions rely heavily on magic. Design all your troops to have the "hallowed rite" trait, so they can earn you mana as they kill. Design your units to have
I dunno, low init units with 50-60 defense are still hard to kill, and can devastate you with crushing blow once they get their turn. Agreed that the AI needs to increase priority on init, but slow units with high defense and attack are still a threat.
10. Curgen''s volcano. Still looks useless even after the changes in the patch notes. Compare to spell of making cost, 500 mana, Curgen's volcano is much more difficult to pull off. Yet it only kills one city. It is typically much better to conquer the city... honestly one of the early battle reports where Frogboy won the game by spamming Curgen's Volcano was pretty cool. The mana cost could be like 300-500 mana,
I need to apologize, I was wrong. Clearly, grammar Nazis are Stardock's target market. People who play fantasy games are never exposed to typos or poor grammar, and have ZERO tolerance for it. And whining from gamers too refined to tolerate small problems is the ONLY way a game company will listen to suggestions. SOMEONE WITH TASTE has to keep them in line! I was so wrong. Above all, you are an utterly enlightened Buddha, who perfectly grasps sarcasm.
Along with Antipathy, Curse City is useless as-is. 30% unrest is a desirable effect, but the mana cost is crazy high. Maybe 150-200 mana? Then it could combo with Antipathy to raise unrest.
Reducing the range on nature's call is a good, easy fix. Thanks for listening to us, this game is looking better and better for release.
For the record, I think shrink is great as is, great way to deal with high-attack enemies (shrink them then kill them last), and Life magic NEEDS a spell like this.
Antipathy is a great example. It just doesn't do quite enough. Can it be 20%, and scale with death shards (perhaps increase cost slightly)? Then it's a useful way to mess up an enemy's economy, now it barely moves the needle.
Replete spelling errors in game text in a commercial product is not the best way to come off as professional nor well-polished. I do have a number of friends who are programmers ... it truly baffles me how poor computer programmers tend to be at spelling and grammar. Computers tend to be far less forgiving of typos than humans (grammar nazis like myself aside, perhaps) ... so how is it a mind that can type thousands or even mill
Oi ... there are a huge number of typos throughout LH. :/ Would it kill Stardock to hire a grammar nazi for $10/hour? :/ I would think with Brad's mention on how many lawyers he's had to hire, Stardock would have a grammarian on hand, as certain common grammar errors can flip the intended meaning of a message ... sorry, big pet peeve of mine ... maybe a thread could be started where we could list all the grammar malfunctions we find instead of
For the record, blizzard is amazing and does not need any adjustment, it is a fearful army killer. It scales with shards and benefits from evoker traits. Yet the 2 turn casting time forces some strategy (or just get the savant trait). For those who think it is useless, I humbly suggest you try playing with it more. I am afraid of blizzard getting nerfed or buffed, it is perfect as-is.
I know it is late in development, so this would probably have to wait for after v1. A big annoyance in unit design is the way upgrades work now. Specifically, when iron-costing and crystal-costing items are all available for upgrade. Is there a way to make magic swords and mundane swords, metal armor and magic armor, etc, into separate categories? While it is possible you would sometimes want the "best item period" on some unit designs, I think players would usually want
