If you want Total War go play Total War this is Elemental:War of Magic not romper room kindergarden oooohh lookit the pretty pictures. Last thing I want is yet another kiddy clickfest rts game.
Good thing Raven X didn't suggest RTS gameplay, then. I like how you didn't even bother to read what you're responding to. It's very classy.

I've run into this myself and I could work around it by zooming out past the cloth map threshold and back in. Then again, I wasn't using cloth map only, so I don't know how much that applies to you. Just to be clear, what happens to you is that you're playing in cloth map view, go to the menu and when you come back the game is in 3D mode and all/most of the objects disappeared, right?

They may offer you one if they want but it would be out of kindness not because it is your right. The game is not broken and unfinished, you just don't like it the way it is, which is fine but that does not entitle you to a refund. You might be able to get the 75% refund for not liking the game though, pursue that.
It would appear that if you pre-ordered far
yes, I think that would be a lot more interesting than "good white kingdoms" versus "evil black empires" Keep Empire/Kingdom as a difference in philosophy, and then allow for differences within them. There's plenty of scope for an evil kingdom. Then you could have situations where the other kingdoms get dragged into the war and have to decide between siding with what they know (ally with the fellow kingdom) or stand up for what they think i

I have enjoyed some of it, but there are areas where it seems it wasn't finished. Now, if "fanboys" like us beta testers are raising questions, what is the casual gamer, who doesn't come here to look at the journals, supposed to think?
I think that largely depends on what one means by "th

A lot of people on this forum have been handing out the advice “if you don’t like the state of the game, get a refund and stop crying”. So I decided to do just that. I wasn’t sure if it was really possible, considering that I paid for the game way back in 2009, but some have commented that it would at worst mean a partial refund. Others even reported getting full refunds despite having pre-ordered in 2009. The first rersponse was a copy-pasted restatement of th

It's the price you have to pay, in the gaming-software industry, for increasing complexity to have richer content -- compatible with gamer systems that become more and more complex (such as : the high sophistication of recent, videocard electronics, architecture and drivers).
This is of course true and everyone who'

Some champion traits produce a certain resource per turn, such as Gildar or Research Points. There is now a big focus on making cities amplify resource production instead of creating it. I think that as long as a resource-producing chamption is inside a city, their production should be added to the city's base production and all the modifiers applied to it. For instance, you have a city with that produces 1 Gildar per turn, with an improvement that boosts Gildar production by 50 perce

This 10x multiplication should definitely happen for stats that are frequently in the <1 range, i.e. gildar, it would just make the interface cleaner and easier to read. 5x would work too, as long as we turn that all-too-common 0.2 and its multiples into whole nu

As things currently stand, there are a lot of fractional values when dealing with Gildar. The normal wage of a unit is 0.2G per turn. If I have one Merchant in my town and two units guarding it, then I'm making 0.6G per turn and the resource display at the top of the screen makes it look like I'm only making money every second turn. Building a Market in my city will increase the income by such a small amount that the UI won't display any difference. Why the below-zero values? Why not

Currently, the only way to tell who or what the target of a specific enchant is, is to begin dismissing the spell, seeing the name in the confirmation box and then cancelling. This information should be displayed simply by mousing over the enchant in question. An additional helpful feature would be if right-clicking the enchant icon would center the screen on the target, in case the name doesn't ring a bell, or it's a generic unit.

Right now, when playing as a faction with the Civilized trait, you get a free city at the beginning at the game. It's automatically given a randomly generated name. The random name generator can throw up some really silly names sometimes, plus if someone likes to name their cities, it probably won't fit with the others. So why not, as in Master of Magic, start the game by asking a name for the first city?

This is the destination I got when accepting an escort quest. It's not as bad as it looks, the goal isn't actually on a different island or continent, just across a largeish bay . But still, it was quite the walk for such an early quest. As far as I understand, there is a limit on how far

1. When a resource is selected, the info/Hiergamenon button displays the same tooltip that the build button does. (construction cost, you cannot build this yet, etc.) here is a screenshot (the cursor isn't visible, but I'm mousing over the left button) 2. When a built pioneer improvement is selected, no selection marker appears around it. <a href="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/

I was looking to get my hands on a shard, so I took one of Parriden's undefended cities that was built next to the only one in vicinity. Unfortunately, one turn later an absurdly powerful Parriden army shows up and takes back the city, killing my sovereign inside. Cue crash to desktop immediately afterwards. Has anyone figured out whether the Wisdom stat does anything and if so what? In the previous build, it raised the spell (research) point limit, but we now have spell levels instead of that. So, what's the benefit of increasing your wisdom now?
