One by one, the things that made Elemental unique and cool are being removed. I just don't get it. edit: I just started my game to check, and zoomed in...yup, no citizens. I can't believe they're gone. That level of detail was always something I could point to and say "see, these guys care about the little things". Between this, and the custom quotes on the hero cards being gone...and dynasties being removed in Fallen Enchantress. &nb
I prefer one big tile...
This happens to me often. I try to explore with my Sov, and before I can train a city defender, a creature appears and destroyed my capital.

I keep going back to FF (I use Chrome right now) and I am constantly disappointed in how slow it is. Chrome is lightning fast on my system, with FF, I can sit there and count waiting for pages to load. IMO the newer versions of FF are as bloated as IE.

Every game is the same, there is no randomness to speak of - if you played two games, you can play 300 more and still not experience much new. Fuck, there should be 50 different scenarios that completely re-shape the world. A necromancer spawns, taking over factions and killing everyone, raising them as dead. No, it's not a necromancer, it's goblins that raze every city they cap

Somehow I missed the part where you said laptop...sorry about that.
Get a sandybridge and an awesome videocard and overclock the heck out of the sandybridge. not that EWoM needs that kind of power, but it would be fun.

Things happen out of order all the time (because of multi-threading??), like enemy going thru their death animation before my guy does his attack animation.
Yeah, it's real...if my soldier dies (goes through a death animation and disappears) if he had any AP left, he can still attack and kill after he's disappeared.

Hopefully Fallen Enchantress improves this.
This may have been mentioned before, but in tactical combat, after one of my attackers dies and disappears, if he still has AP left, he can continue to attack (I guess from the grave)...
Why not just get rid of tactical combat in WoM? God, I wish they would.
This isn't Civ. I'm not sure having the land do things, outside of bonus tiles, would help the game be any more fun. I do think we need more variety in the bonus tiles though. Having certain land have combat modifiers like woodlands/hills/etc, or having it affect tactical maps- might.
No it isn't Civ. But there's nothing wrong with borrowing from a successf

I don't see a lot of Shafer updates on this site. So, what are you up to, man?
Is it stable enough to play? That totally depends on each situation. For me, the game has crashed only once in nine months. So it's very stable for me.
