A lot of the hate for Steam seems to be unwarranted paranoia and mis-information about DRM. My experience with Steam from the point of view of someone who actually uses it is this: I started using it when I bought the Orange a few years ago, and it has been fantastic. I have an easy to use list of all my games right there in front of me. They update automatically, which is super convenient. Through the Steam sales, I have purchased dozens of game

Brad- you mentioned some of the great new games to come out lately. I'm dying to know your opinion of the indie space 4X game "Endless Space". It owes a lot to Galciv2.

You can buy it anytime you like and start playing the beta now. edit: I
hmm. Alright thanks. I'll keep watching for now. I did learn that right now there's no allied victory or coop tools like that. You can ally during the game, but in the end to actually get a victory screen you need to cancel that alliance and try to beat each other. Hopefully they change that.
No diplo victory?? Is the only way to win through military means? That might be a deal breaker

A lot of anti-Steam hogwash being tossed around here, but the results of Brads poll linked above are pretty clear. Out of almost 600 forum goers, 73% currently use Steam and like it. I think the complainers are just louder.

This was before I understood forum posters, so I actually listened to them without screening their bullshit. I finally tried out Steam and I absolutely love it. It's easy, doesn't cause me any problems what so ever, I can play the games offline, I can mod still, it has tons of great deals all the
I bought Elemental because I believed in Stardock . Brad Wardell has not let me down, and he's not going to give us up. He is never going to tell a lie or hurt you. *sigh* Rickrolling myself here...
Me too. I was fully aware that there were issues at the time that I bought it. I have absolutely no regrets.

Yeah, it seems to only do it on quick saves. The resolution still resets though. I noticed I have 2 pref.ini files in my documents, 1 in "fallen enchantress beta 1", and 1 in a folder just called "fallen enchantress"...if that matters

I never want to see MP is a 4X turn-based game. This kind of a slow build game is better suited for 1 player. Plus, those resources wasted on MP, could have gone to making the SP better. That's my 3 cents.

" Tomorrow, February 23, beta 2 of Fallen Enchantress will be unleashed on the unsuspecting public. Anyone who has pre-ordered Fallen Enchantress will have access to it as well as anyone who purchased War of Magic back in 2010." This applies to me, I received an email to get the first FE beta, but I never got beta 2. <
We have some in the game right now. Blood Season, Eclipse, Meteor Shower, Hulk Smash! and the Revelry. Im wondering if they need to be more frequent though, they are pretty rare. ps. One of those events may not be real
How about making it like GalCiv2 where there's minor events that happen frequently, and "mega" events that are rare.

I couldn't care less about MP in a turn-based 4X strategy game. Brad's words at the link below apply also to Elemental, and are as true today as the day he wrote them. https://forums.galciv2.com/98074
