Whenever I re-start FE, it defaults to 1280x768 resolution, and when I try to reload my save, I just get a completely empty dark world.
Are you reloading a quick save or an autosave? There are reports that those are bugged in .86, with the symptom you describe. If you manually do a save and then reload, it should work better.
Yeah, it seems to only do it on quick saves. The resolution still resets though. I noticed I have 2 pref.ini files in my documents, 1 in "fallen enchantress beta 1", and 1 in a folder just called "fallen enchantress"...if that matters
