Quoting Frogboy, reply 21 The biggest UI bugaboo I have with FE right now is how hard it is to get rid of city enchantments and unit enchantments. There is a way to get rid of city enchantments? I just assumed they were intended to be permanent because I couldn't find any way to get rid of them.
Regarding the "three-turn minimum building cap", Seanw3's analysis is so "Dead-on", that it is worth repeating (at least in part - the editing is mine - I'll take the blame for that):
I understand the logic of a 3 turn build minimum. Such a mechanic is there to make sure that production levels don't allow one city to ever outproduce 3 cities. It's a cap on the ability to power
Again: Wow ! There are a striking number of improvements that you have identified in this Fallen Enchantress Changelog for v0.98 (Beta 5). Thanks for your continuing hard work in making improvements to this game; as well as for the increasing number of Bug-Fixes that you folks have been tackling, of late. Really, the work (of your whole team) continues to be downright impressive ! <span st
Thanks for this great Original Post, Mr. Paxton ! This is some Heavy Stuff ... and I mean that in a good way. I like learning more about game design (in the world of PC's). I'm old; and I used to design some great warfare-type board games in my younger days. That subject has always interested me (along with history, geography, and resource allocation decisions); and this Post sheds more light on how individuals (and teams)

Interesting Question: Glad you asked ... Of the choices you offered (all adding up to 8), I think 3 grain, 3 production, 2 essence is usually best. Most of the time a balanced start is best, because you really do not know (beyond a very small area) what you will encounter. As Cauldyth suggested (in this magic-oriented game) essence

Nice Find, DevildogFF ... and thanks for sharing! I really do think this is one of the best PC strategy game reviews that I have read. IMO, it is remarkaby detailed, and genuinely fair. As a result, it is also genuinely helpful/useful. As seanw3 suggested, it will help to build early awareness (more sales !), and that in turn should further incentivize Stardock to keep plugging away at i
Well, Parrottmath, there is another constrictor on city density, and that is the minimum distance -- between cities -- that is permissable. Until v0.951, the minimum distance was 8 tiles. When v0.951 was released, the minimum distance between cities was reduced to 6 tiles. As a result, it is now possible to build considerably more cities on a given sized map, than was previously the case (assuming the availability of adequa

However, sometimes I might want to play a more empty world. Perhaps there should be a setting for "settle-able" tile density, apart from resources?
I think this is an Excellent Suggesti

Of all these possible features, the one I would most like to see is a really capable (and user-friendly) Map Editor ! I would love to see one in E:FE, that is as good (for example) as the one in Civ 4. If Stardock can come up with that, I think the issue of Replay-ability will have been pretty much settled ... once and for all.
Weird bug ! Funny you should mention it, because I just had this bug appear in a game I am playing now. The Tile Yields disappeared in three tiles ( only 3) of a cluster of five, when my Sov rode across them, from the SouthEast, to the NorthWest, after I fought a battle on one of the tiles.
