They have never confirmed that boats will never be in FE to my knowledge, merely that they won't be in for release. They could simply be focusing on finishing off the land before worrying about the water. Depending on how they do seafaring it could be mostly just a large content patch to a huge new game-play mechanic requiring an expansion. Once you add boats you need: sea tactical maps, sea monsters, sea quests, sea resources, different sea terrains, sea magic, sea traits, etc. I

Yeah being able to build military buildings in outposts such as walls and watchtowers just makes sense. Not so much economy buildings though, that's what cities are for.
Such things would take modding the items and/or units currently in-game. Really, anything that activates a unitstat can be used here - for example a trait that gives you +3 attack vs any enemy occupying a desert tile in strategic mode, or +3 if you are occupying a mountain tile. Also, the huge caveat here is the AI not knowing exactly how to use such mechanics.
Nice! I was wondering if it would be possible to mod in some strategic terrain bonuses. Can't wait

How about tech requirements for champion equipment? That way champions don't outpace normal units equipment wise. So most champion equipment isn't useless you could stagger it a level, so that champions can always use equipment 1 tech higher then normal units but not 2 or 3 techs higher.
As someone who was always complaining that the monsters in WoM were not tough or interesting enough I can't wait to see the new monsters in action!

Hence why Frogboy personally wants to add multiplayer eventually , because he has already invested money in it. I am a huge multiplayer fa
Umm the AI in WoM designed troops and didn't use templates. I doubt the AI in FE will be incapable of designing units.

It does look like the tactical maps take at least some inspiration from the location on the strategic map at which the battle takes place.
Let's not jump the gun here. While tactical maps that resemble the strategic world would be marvellous, it's a big feature that they haven't talked about at all. It is probably just a pre-built map.
Indeed. However if that is a pre-built map it's a bloody oddly specific one.
I don't see any huge problems in FE from open borders. Unlike in Civ FE has less places to build cities, you kinda have to build in certain areas(fertile ground). This means the AI is less likely to build in weird places within your borders. Also unlike in Civ the main constraint on building new cities is probably going to be hostile monsters not the build time and cost of settlers, so if there is a open spot you could easily take it before the AI. This system would be much
Hmm after reading about Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai I think what you have done with Elemental is similar to how they put out a stand alone expansion after every game. Really these expansions are whole new games that use a lot of art assets kinda like FE.
Wow that's a lot of pack drakes.
I agree with Sanati. People who see Fallen Enchantress are going to look at the screen shots and just see War of Magic. This is compounded by the fact that most people have not played War of Magic (even if they purchased it), and it has been too long since its release for them to remember anything specific in the images besides the general art style. I'd go with Elemental 2: Fallen Enchantress.
Of course the other side of
Since Elemental is really the name of the world because of the other games you are planning add to the franchise later, it would be very weird to drop Elemental from the title.
