The budget for my new PC won't be approved until mid 2012, so I'll probably be getting the second generation Bulldozer, which comes with a new socket. For me, the real money saver will be the video card. The 5850 has performed well up until now, so unless they invent DirectX 12 and make it mandatory by then, I should be fine with it for a few more years. Heck, I managed with a x1950 until april. Out of curiosity, I looked at the price for an i7 processor, and it would seem tha

I've been thinking about similar setups for my next build, and since price is a serious issue, I'm going for an AMD setup. If you are considering going the AMD route as well, I would recommend waiting a month, just in case the new FX CPUs prove to be sufficiently better than the Phenom.
Well, you just snatched all my puns. Now all I have left is wanting to see an armadillo in the gallows, as a reference to Psycho Pinball. Are there any creatures in FE that sort of look like armadillos?
I'm still waiting to see that Lobster vs Scorpion fight.
I don't believe there is an Episode 3. Doug Lombardi mentioned that the initiative to produce episodic games failed, since they weren't really all that episodic, and they were considering returning to the monolithic development schedule. This was about three years ago. Combine that with Valve's obsession with quality, and you have the reason why Half Life 3 hasn't been released yet. My advice, keep calm and be patient, or at least go to that rally being held ou
I'm not familiar with half of the abbreviations you've used, but I share your sentiment and will look into it when I have a system that actually includes that stuff. It's the same with manufacturers making mice that have side buttons that are positioned horizontally, instead of vertically, like anatomy intended. It can drive you nuts.
That actually reminds me, I should get a dedicated sound card for the next build. I'm going to keep clear of Creative this time, since I discovered that the Soudlbaster Audigy that the current PC came with has lower recording performance than a century old integrated Realtek audio adapter from the back-up PC. The Xonar series looks interesting. How well would you say it handles audio input?
I actually do daily video editing, and a 5 year old rig that hasn't been treated all that well still does the job. Sadly, in order to get it to function with video files of higher quality, ones that I can edit in real time, I have to recode the video at a lower quality, edit it, and then replace it with the original. So in about a year and a half, I'll be switching to my fifth PC. I really hope I won't have the same headaches with drivers that Brad has had. I'll do my best to
MoM style population management. [e digicons]:smitten:[/e] Also, the random nature of city improvements sounds very appealing. It's nice to see that the game is going in a more unpredictable direction regarding progression, unlike Hero... Might and Magic Heroes 6, that just about abandoned that idea. Like a wise red dragon disguised as a man once said, "Mystery is important, to know everything is boring"
I can see it now: "Attention sovereign. Something just ate The Ruin of Summer, and is now headed to your capital, grab your ankles, keep your head down and think happy thoughts."
I understand what you mean, I remember trying to kill Gunther for hours on end after the airport scene, but was never able to, since he was immortal. But the game still let you be there, it didn't isolate the encounter in a cinematic, and you could still do certain things out of order, even if it was just for the sake of keeping up the illusion of freedom. It even gave you the option to deal with certain fixed issues, like bossfights, the way you wanted. The third bossfight
It's the same in my country, the public TV channel, which is now more or less a propaganda machine for the current dictatorship, is partly funded from taxes added to the electric power bill.
I understand that, but in DX1 you could short-circuit certain events, like plating a bomb under Anna Navare and saying bye bye, or just skipping over certain situations, like the hostage rescue in the subway. You can't really do things like that in Human Revolution. It's a much more linear progression that doesn't allow you to screw with the plot. It even keeps all the critical characters locked in cinematics or in areas you can't use your weapons, out of fear I may murder the
HoMM 2 is GOD!!! Finished Deus Ex H+, finally. The story structure, endings and absolutely no closure when it comes to 90% of the characters is by far the worst part of the game. Especially the story structure, that won't let you circumvent, alter, or muck about with events like you used to be able to in the first game. Still, the gameplay and atmosphere are good enough to make me ignore that.
A PC inside a huge TV... this reminds me a lot of something I saw way back on a show called The Next Step. Voice activated, could read motion, I think you could also paint on it, it looked like a blast. I think it was on the same episode where they were showing a prototype of something called Wildfire, that let you press a button, say a name, and the phone it was attached to would dial the number associated with that name. I'm actually surprised stuff like this isn't more comm
Hmm, you've made a convincing argument in favor of Pale Moon, I'll give it a go, at least as a secondary browser, for the time being.
That's bizarre. Nothing like that has happened to me with Opera. Sometimes when a tab is out of focus it will, in tile or cascade mode, it'll display display a part of the page I already scrolled past, mixed with the part I'm at, making the page a jumble of stuff, and I need to click the tab to remind it where it was, but nothing like that. Same image, same Opera: &nb
Never thought of that, never tough it would work, never thought to use walk during crouch. Damn, this opens up a whole lot of possibilities, now I need to restart the game [e digicons][/e]
Yes, so was I, until they took down Sony Station, and rendered every SOE published MMO unplayable for a month. Missed out on a lot of pirating on the burning sea because of that incident. I hope they also plugged the holes in Sony Station while they were at it.
The Montreal portion of the game disappointed me a bit. At some point, you'll have to leave the tower, and the game directs you to descend to a certain level, in order to exit the building. My first instinct was the exact opposite, going to the roof, and getting ready to take a nosedive into the pavement, and hoping that the Icarus upgrade would prevent me from turning into a fine red mist on impact. I couldn't do that sadly. The game has a reason for that, since you still have some s
I'm not letting it go. Damned be the internet and it's "You're browser is not supported" propaganda! Unless of course, there's some other browser out there that supports hotkeys like tab cycling wit the 1-2 keys, or forward-back with control+direction, or the ability to select anything in a web page just by pressing the Tab key a few times.
@OMG_Jongalt26 The quicksave key is F5, it'll alway save in the same file, just like the first game did. So far the game hasn't failed to live up to my expectations. The only gripes I have with it would be the absence of melee weapons, although, that only serves to increase the difficulty. I haven't found any way to recharge energy, other than protein bars and those big jars, no more maintenance bots to do the job. This also increases the difficulty of the game by a lot.</
Wait... continuing my conspiracy theory about mouses with side buttons. Can this thing detect gestures just on the top, or also on the side?
The adaptive LCD keyboard looks very nice. I remember looking up a similar one a while a go and fainting when I saw it's price. Speaking of keyboards, this may sound odd. But can anyone point me to a method by which I can remap the volume dial on my keyboard to work as a seek function in Adobe Premiere? So far the only thing I've been able to remap are the pointless internet buttons.
Yep.... and a special mouse to go with that 'conspiracy', unacomm [j/k...for a laugh only] :
See, even the mice know about the conspiracy [e digicons][/e]
