No one staled. No idea what tophat is talking about. Turn timer is set to 50h, it can stay there if people want. Also, Ulm is interested in acquiring boosters from the following paths, Fire, Air, Death. Also interested in Moonvine Bracelets if anyone can forge them. Ulm is also interested in acquiring a 'number' of blood slaves. This number is greater than 75. Ulm offers hammers for trade for

Well I reset it when I had the chance. Marv was likely to stale anyway. Is likely to stale? Dude if you think your position is finished you can go AI, I'm pretty sure everyone around you is already trying to get your provs anyway.

I dunno, the research tree is zoomable, you can out far enough to see what you need to see. You can turn on or off the names as well, since they can be annoying or necessary depending on your zoom level. The tree being 'round' is no less annoying than any other tree I've ever seen. At least not because it's round. The 3D star map is a PITA until you get used to it. But that's not a UI issue, that's a design choice for actu

Ehh? Good ol' Shadow Noob is alive and kicking. A few nicks of course, but not really much worse for wear. He did spend a few months stuck under the foot of a rather large pachyderm, but the priests were eventually able to pry him off and get him more or less on his feet. Well, he kinda floats anyway. It's odd, he does seem to spend a lot of time with Tim, the Hammer forger, staring vacantly as the energi

Ulm is pretty sure the Smouldercone is not ice cream, but it is something Joe apparently likes having licked.

Well go for it! Make as much noise over how much it sucks as you can, I will enjoy the view :) I'm no fanboi, I like seeing things slagged, and hell yeah, Dom3 can be slagged for many things. Of course the 'counter', such as it is, is that those things are deemed irrelevant by the people who actually like the game. For example I can't stand any RTS, any of them at all. They all suck, are tedious t
Quoting shadowtongue, reply 103Talk of economic collapse is overblown in my opinion. We'll see! At the end of the day it will come down to the generosity of the rest of the world and who sees a need to bail the US out. Several nations will feel the US has trodden on too many toes over the years, so how much economic aid is given will depend largely on them. Not too many will dust off an adversary to fight a
Using the unofficial patches, you get a game that is much better balanced, more stable, and more enjoyable. I wouldn't call it perfect, but it suddenly became fun to play with friends.
Yes, it is not perfect (then again what is?), but for my tastes... it was very enjoyable. The 'marco' style actually worked really well, once you got over the learning curve. The Ship and Fleet design was amo

A very bizarre list. SMAC? Um, whatever. Great game, to be sure, but 'space based' Only if you're stretching the taffy from New York to LA. MoO2 at #1? I don't really have any rebuttal to that, but meh, I don't think it should be at #1 anymore, seems based more off of the emotional attachment to that game from back when rather than the fact that it's actually 'better' than other contenders wh

So without having played it, you'll chime in. Besides the caveats included by everyone about it are pretty freaking clear. I think the point is more that no one who has bought it doesn't think it's awesome. Which is kinda a pointless statement, but meh, people do their homework on it, and if they aren't stupid, then they buy it only after they are convinced it will give them what they want. It is *not*
While it is true that my assassins struck against Marverni without warning, it is also true that we had no diplomatic conversations with them prior to that strike. I have honored all of my NAP-3 diplomatic agreements, as is evidenced by my giving of fair warning before starting war with C'tis. So, to reiterate, we did not propose, or receive a proposal for - let alone agree to - a NAP with Marverni before our attack. W

Ulm has also seen a few pretenders 'in action'. Well the scrying ball was a bit grainy, but our 'artists' were able to make 'prints'...

Meh... Talk of economic collapse is overblown in my opinion. Not to suggest there are not serious fundamental issues which need to be dealt with, and the jist of your 2nd paragraph is correct. China can't afford *not* not continue investing in the US, for the time being. There simply is not another market for them to sell their shit to to maintain the growth they are trying to achieve. That is *right now*. Things can an

You may be right starkers, but by that point it will be too late to make a difference. It may already be too late to make a difference. Betty Ford though. She was one classy lady, helped drive the ERA movement, helped convince women that breast cancer wasn't something to be ashamed of, helped a bunch of useless celebrities clean themselves up... Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Stop all aid to foreign countries. Problem solved. Problems solved. Actually. But that's too inhumane probably. Can't we talk about something warm and fuzzy? Like human trafficking? Or the death of Betty Ford?

My take on the price is not that it *was* expensive, but that it's 5 years old and still going for the same price it ever has had (or damn close to it). Still, the fact that the game was never built around the kinds of things which tend to suffer with age (heavy gfx or other useless bells and whistles) allows me to 'justify' (as much as anyone would care about my opinion) the reason why the price is still the same. Monopoly still costs whatever the hel
I'm pretty sure it tells me that the price and lack of marketing have ensured that the only people giving it any kind of look are the demographic most likely to like it despite all the flaws. The difference being that when there is lots of marketing the shit storm on the forums when the game sucks (EWoM for example?) is much worse than anything Dom3 ever

One thing is clear. The Aby death gem addiction has certainly grown, and now they target the filthy lizard lands to sate their immense appetite for death gems braised in virgin slave blood. Ulm does not judge though. Indeed, anyone requiring any special utensils to consume said vile product can contact their nearest Ulmish embassy and look through our latest catalog. This one features a fold out of a scantilly clad pretender, from thei

Yeah, we are still on a 25h turn schedule, so you should be expecting to get a turn every day. When there's a hiccup on the server it stops time anyway, so you will always have the full 25h to get and send any turns.

709 Replies 1,356,797 Views

No one has staled yet in the game, so no worries there. I've got no issues with llamaserver, he's working though some changes I believe, so that's why there have been so many hiccups of late.

I won't defend the price they have Dom3 at, I don't think it's possible. Shrapnel is a shit site and a shit publisher in my opinion as well. But none of that has anything to do with the quality of Dom3. Granted, it's really not everyones cup of tea, then again what is? I think the point which needs to be stressed for Dom3 is the massive amount of content. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, even comes remotely close. Some games (pa
